Comedian blames The Wire for spreading fake story about censorship of Modi jokes
SHARE TWEET SHARE EMAIL
In the last few days, social media is abuzz with messages insinuating that a leading TV entertainment channel censored jokes on Prime Minister Narendra Modi under pressure from government agencies. These messages, often accompanied with some media reports, provide no proof, not even unnamed “sources” citing any government censorship, but the tone of most of these reports nonchalantly suggest some kind of state pressure.

The person whose jokes are reported to have been censored is Shyam Rangeela, who participated in comedy reality show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge” of Star Plus. Rangeela’s mimicry of Prime Minister Modi is widely popular. He was apparently invited to the show owing to that popularity.

However, he reportedly was asked not to mimic PM Modi – ironically something for which he is widely popular and it was that popularity that won him an invite to the show. As a result of his mimicry act being thrown out of the window, this extremely talented mimicry artist was eliminated from the show. A video clip of his act where he is seen mimicking Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi, which allegedly was not aired by the TV channel, has already gone viral and is being circulated as ‘censored clip’ with claims of ‘attack on free speech’.

Unsurprisingly, half baked news reports, which claimed that Rangeela was asked to not do any mimicry of Modi but was told that he was free to make jokes on Rahul Gandhi, gave this entire incident a completely partisan colour. These news reports aimed to communicate the supposed dichotomy in political attitude. With BJP trampling upon freedom of expression by censoring mimicry of the Prime Minister and Congress graciously accepting jokes on Rahul Gandhi.

Congress’s allegiance to ‘free speech’ is already a widely discussed topic on social media with users putting forth dozens of examples where Congress has censored creative and literary work. Scientist and columnist Anand Ranganathan has already listed one hundred instances of censorship by Congress, with help from various Twitter users, and the list is not yet complete.

The media is meant to be non partisan and free, but this seems to be yet another example of half baked, incomplete facts being peddled as the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. One of the publications that tried to give clean chit to Congress while besmirching BJP was The Wire, which came up with a following headline:

Image

The agenda was more obvious in the Hindi report by The Wire, where the headline quoted Shyam Rangeela saying (in Hindi) ‘TV channel told me I can mimic Rahul Gandhi but not Narendra Modi’.

This politically partisan and dishonest headline by The Wire was spotted by many Twitter users who pointed out how the story by The Wire itself contradicts its headline. In the story, Rangeela clearly says that he was asked not to mimic Rahul Gandhi either:

AIB deletes out of context video demeaning PM Modi after getting called out on Twitter
The whole 2.20 minute video (out of which AIB borrowed a 4-5 seconds clip), shows PM Modi sharing an anecdote with school kids about elderly people often using the phrase that the “weather this year is colder as compared to last year”. This Modi explains is because their resistance to cold has reduced. Thus he claimed, Climate hasn’t changed but we (humans) have changed.

What AIB failed to incorporate in its video was, what Modi said after this. He had stated how the bad habits of humans have resulted in us harming the environment. He then gave points of advice to the schoolkids that humans should love and not struggle with nature.

So clearly from the video, not only PM Modi wasn’t refuting climate change, he actually was telling the school kids how the changing habits of humans has resulted in the degradation of the environment.

In order to further drill home his point, @moronhumor put out video clips which showed Modi’s love for the climate, including the clip of him addressing the Paris summit where he is clearly heard stating that “Climate change is a major global challenge”.

Soon after his expose, AIB deleted the tweet, which might insinuate that the intention of the video merely was mischief making and not actually trying to make people laugh.
This is how fake propaganda is spread by the usual suspects :
Even though AIB has now deleted the post, the video continues to flourish in the form of Congress spokespersons and its supporters sharing it to attack Modi.
Perhaps that was the idea to begin with? To seed a political propaganda video, then delete it to keep your own backyard clean, while the propaganda keeps spreading?

Reports about 40% train seats remaining vacant on Mumbai – Ahmedabad route exposed as a lie

http://www.opindia.com/2017/11/reports- ... -as-a-lie/
The Mumbai – Ahmedabad high speed rail corridor is probably one of the most ambitious transportation projects of the country. Under this project, India will get its first bullet train and is being funded by Japan via a generous loan deal.

Ever since the bullet train project was announced, it has borne the brunt of being opposed by the Congress party and has been at the receiving end of a malicious misinformation campaign.

In recent days media reports signalled that they were again up in arms against the project in general. The reports were titled:

Route For Planned Bullet Train Loss-Making, 40% Seats Empty, Reveals RTI [1]
Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train in the works but 40% seats on route go vacant: RTI [2]
Is PM Modi’s Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project viable? Railways’ RTI reply offers a hint [3]
All these reports quoted a certain RTI query made by RTI activist Anil Galgali, as per which 40% of the seats on all the trains of this sector went vacant which causes huge losses to the Western Railway.

Naturally, if trains in any sector have a 40% vacancy, it would raise questions not only about the viability of the mega bullet train project, but would also bring in question as to why are so many trains currently running between these two stations.

But as has been the case with many news reports in the past, this conclusion too was drawn based on a malicious spin of the actual RTI query.

Soon after the 40% vacancy reports started gaining traction, Piyush Goyal put out a tweet which debunked the whole charge:
Contrary to media reports, Mumbai-Ahmedabad train section running at above 100% occupancy and will benefit immensely from Bullet train.

Would PRC allow a foreign power to buy prominent space in its newsmedia? If not, PRC should be denied the same right here.

Similarly, does PRC allow unfettered imports sans trade and non-trade barriers/ No. Hence, same should be denied here as well.

Etc.

Game theory says tit-for-tat is a rather good strategy when dealing with bullies, mercantilists, frenemies and the like.

No government advertisements for ‘fake news’ papers (Asian Age)
New Delhi: The Narendra Modi government has decided to put a leash on “fake news” or “wrong reporting” by denying official advertisements to erring media outlets.

Sources said that Clause 25 of the New Print Media Advertisement Policy, 2016, which deals with issues of suspension and recovery, will be amended to stop the release of Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP) advertisements to organisations that indulge in “unethical” reporting.

The proposed amendments to the clause include provisions to take punitive action against news published out of “bad intent” and “fake news”. However, no definition of “bad intent” and “fake news” is immediately available. Whether a news report will invite punitive action remains open to interpretation by DAVP officials.

The DAVP is expected to seek the help of Press Council of India and Press Information Bureau in weeding out such news, sources said.

The ban on releasing official advertisements to erring media outlets will be for a specified period that will depend on the seriousness of “misreporting”.

The information and broadcasting ministry had last year unveiled anew advertisement policy in which it had decided to check the circulation figures of newspapers and periodicals with the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) or Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI) before releasing official advertisements.

Currently, Clause 25 of the print media policy states that a newspaper may be suspended from empanelment by the DAVP if it is found to have deliberately submitted false information regarding circulation or found to have discontinued its publication, changed its periodicity or its title or have become irregular or changed its premises/press without due intimation.

A publication can also face action in case it fails to submit an annual return to the RNI or its annual circulation certificate from the prescribed agencies.

Action can also be taken, if the Press Council of India find a publication indulging in “anti-national” activities. Refusing to carry an advertisement issued by the DAVP on more than two occasions also invites a penalty.
A welcome step indeed, if it is implemented.

So will wait till its actually law and its implementation loophole size can be gauged. Till then, its just a bunch of pious statements of intent only. And talk is cheap.

The Wire founders Siddharth Varadarajan and M K Venu become butt of all jokes
The Internet is unforgiving. Recently, the leftist propaganda website, The Wire, which seems to be on a mission to spread innuendoes, lies, propaganda, misrepresentations, and other such canards, has reduced itself to a joke. After the recent ‘exposé‘ by abusive troll Swati Chaturvedi masquerading as a journalist, twitterati donned their creative cap and brought us some entertainment on an otherwise sleepy Sunday.

It all started when it was brought to people’s notice that under the UPA, Rajya Sabha TV, which came under the control of former vice president Hamid Ansari, was allegedly used to spread agenda and pay the ‘loyalists’ handsomely.
Both, M K Venu and Siddharth Varadarajan, founding editors of The Wire, were paid handsomely, Rs. 15,000 per appearance, totalling to Rs. 33 lakh and Rs. 14.70 lakh respectively, of the tax payers’ money in last few years. Varadarajan, who hosted a show discontinued it from April, while Venu was told not to host the shows he was hosting since August. It is only after August that the hit-jobs by The Wire have gone up
Rajya Sabha TV comes under Vice-President and Hamid Ansari exploited it for agenda and to pay their party Loyalists handsomely #Ecosystem

Headline -
Rs 29,000 Crore Meant For Welfare Of Construction Workers Spent On Buying Laptops, Reveals CAG Report
https://www.outlookindia.com/website/st ... vea/303946

Facts cleverly hidden t imply that BJP regime was responsible.

Actual story:

http://nalsa.gov.in/sites/default/files ... 0Court.pdf

Case was filed in 2006 [Write petition (civil) 318 of 2006]
CAG data cited in the case is up until 2012, though the tabulation on p. 37 says 2015.
One of the main accused is also AAP, concerning whom a letter has been cited on p. 47 saying "sinister underhand scheme is to take money away from the Welfare Board and park it in 3 ministries of the Delhi Government namely (i) Health Department (200 Crores), (ii) Education Department (100 Crores), (iii) Social Welfare Department (400 Crores) and (iv) PWD Department (200 Crores)." Since the fourth department is PWD, there's no ambiguity that "Delhi Government" means AAP since there is no PWD department at the centre.

NOW, why does the article not mention the departments, give dates and timelines, and in general be more clear as to who did what and under whose watch? Go through the whole case and you'll find that no mention of any BJP or BJP linked politician.
Lastly you have the obligatory idiots in the randi thread whining
(didn't understand the article) "2014: BJP seemed like the lesser evil 2019: Congress seems like the lesser evil"
(unrelated whining) BJPs hypocrisy is such that it will clamp down 13000 NGOs in just 2 months for foreign funding but then do nothing about its own biggest NGO, RSS, for the same foreign funding!
(blaming RW media) "Let's see if Arnab will do a show on this. Isme bhi Congress ko le aayega saala dalla."

Or His Congress friend like many leftists I know ,know nothing about anything, from corrupt funds they are just used to throwing money to get any work done. So he has tried the usual tactic and the people who are used taking money from him have quoted their fee for filling a form.

Read 2 books written by @devduttmyth, both were awful. Thought that it was him trying to dumb it down for newbies. Read his tweets on rape & johar, realised that he is an asinine propagandist.

http://www.opindia.com/2017/11/when-myt ... -meltdown/
The recent raging controversy in the country revolves around the latest Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie which is based on Rani Padmavati. While the controversy rages on, a parallel discussion that has gripped the nation is whether Rani Padmavati was right to choose death over honour. In this regard, ‘mythologist’ Devdutt Pattanaik went on a tweet rampage that left twitterverse both shocked and disgusted.

The controversy started with this tweet of Devdutt, where he talks about how unfortunate it is that a movie would glorify someone who would choose death over rape, or the idea that it embodies.

SLB made a film that glamorises & valorises the idea of a woman vountarily burning herself to protect ‘honour’ of her macho clan. A macho clan whose honour demands women voluntarily burning themselves should have rung alarm bells. It did not. Sigh.

— Devdutt Pattanaik (@devduttmyth) November 17, 2017

The conversation of course drifted to patriarchy thereon.

Some women believe death is better than rape. Really?
Surviving and thriving despite violent monsters is not an option? Really?
This is how we support patriarchy. https://t.co/ZU9kQsedmq

— Devdutt Pattanaik (@devduttmyth) November 17, 2017

What is rather unfortunate, and also shocking, considering Devdutt calls himself a historian, that he fails to draw a distinction not only between rape and sex slavery, but also applies the choices that women faced, when they were about to be taken as sex conquests by Islamic invaders to what a woman might do today.

When this, and much more was pointed out to Devdutt, he slipped into his meltdown mode.

Troll father to Daughter – Kill yourself rather than get raped.
Daughter to Troll father – I am far far stronger & smarter so will survive ANYTHING. Bye!

— Devdutt Pattanaik (@devduttmyth) November 17, 2017

Not just asinine rants, he went on to accuse people of enjoying burning their daughter, over and over again. This specific example is when someone pointed towards the ordeal of women who were taken by ISIS as sex slaves.

You love burning daughters 🤢

— Devdutt Pattanaik (@devduttmyth) November 18, 2017

This was Devdutt’s response when someone asked him to ask the womenfolk in his family what they think about this issue.

They say you are a marital rapist 😱 true?

— Devdutt Pattanaik (@devduttmyth) November 17, 2017

Some folks were ofcourse not willing to take his rubbish lying down.

By the same logic.. you like raping women and treating them as sex slaves? https://t.co/dKo769is0D

@devduttmyth with Wendy Doniger

The charlatan has been compromised by Hindu-hating Whites, and he seems happy for it. I wonder what he is getting in return. Amazing how easy it is for Hindus to be subverted. Greed for money and personal advancement even by betraying the Hindu cause is the main reason.

@TrueIndology account suspended on twitter.

This guy was a one-man tour-de-force. Taught more true history to RW nanha-mujahids on social media than all post '47 history textbooks combined.

The left-fiberal ecosystem couldn't handle his sheer force of truthful exposition. Instead, smeared him for 'alleged' threats and got a pliant jihai-friendly twitter India to suspend said account only.

#sigh.
