The Great Indian Political Drama - 1 (Oct 2017 - Mar 2018)
Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017
I've never visited Taj. The pictures and descriptions are of course of high praise to the point of folks saying "two kinds of people in the world..seen taj and not seen taj"..
I don't have hang ups about Mughals to the point of avoiding it if i am in the general area and an opportunity is there..
But I ain't going up naarth to just see taj. There's plenty of mind blowing architecture that I have seen and yet to see around me.
The periya kovil of thanjavur - now that is more reflective of Indian culture and architecture than a tomb. Bjp has an opportunity here to spin this positive instead of getting themselves cornered if they only say negative stuff about Mughal invaders.

This is heavily exaggerated by the media. It is C system with Treasury and looting of the Banks which can run multimillion dollar IT cells with dedicated personal running memes. For robber's free ticket, expect some other fake scandal by BJP.
Hindus lack focus on SM. They just let die the genuine King Fisher ticket story and congress is running a non story for so many days. BJP's IT cell is just not up to the mark. In fact, even the party is remiss in just letting such a juicy story die.

pilgrimage tourism is a good money earner for uttarkhand. HORDES of ppl from east and south go to haridwar, rishikesh and the dhams and more. then there is trekking industry in summer.
UP with so many places in our culture like mathura , brindavan not so much .... i have never met anyone enroute to these places but plenty going to Taj and sikri. if you think of benaras, how many well paying upper middle class hindu families make a family vacation to benaras and surrounding area? is it worth? I dont know, and if squirrels like us do not know, its hardly likely the aam aadmi know. eastern UP has this look of a overpopulated lawless zone with no air connectivity and iffy rail connection from south and north (prone to bahubalis marching in and occupying seats, accidents, robberies even on rajdhani trains). its poor perception of law and lack of any form of tourism campaign and information means nobody from south or east really works UP in as a tourist destination. jodhpur or jaisalmer has the romance and a long line of people willing to visit, gorakhpur and mughalsarai ... ummm not so much
minus the law n order, punjab too suffers from a lack of tourist marketing ... except for amritsar which has religion and food and jallianwala bagh as iconic brands. how many non-sikh tourists go to anandpur sahib?
the beneficiaries are rajasthan(well marketed and pkged) and uttarkhand(whose sites are so iconic needs no real marketing)
west bengalis, including blue checked lungi hordes(!) have taken to renting buses from WB and doing tours in far off corners of india. they seem to have network of lodges and food stops to manage this feat. and these are long tours like 15-30 days. with kids.

Agree. I have posted previously that to have a ecosystem like congress, BJP will have to be corrupt like congress. But, these are full tosses and BJP must take a heavy toll of them. Instead, they are patting them back to the bowler. They should occupy more mind space than Jay Shah.Aditya_V wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2017 2:03 amThis is heavily exaggerated by the media. ABVP sweeps Agra Univ polls. Link is in Hindi: http://www.amarujala.com/uttar-pradesh/ ... y-election
Compare with the loss in JNU and DU polls in Dilli. Narrative in Urban India does seem to be faltering for the PIF.
P.S. Wild theory but could this Agra win be a Yogi effect perhaps? Of an unapologetic Hindutva icon who can't be bought, bribed, blackmailed or browbeaten?
P.P.S. Imagine a time when our temples are free... and each major temple, following the Gorakhnath template creates its own unapologetic Yogi ji...
Well, a guy can dream at least. Onlee...

The erudite Sudhanshu TrivediJi was on a roll on TimesNow. He had an interesting dichotomous take on the Taj. He said just as we revere monuments like the India gate or the parliament buildings even though they were built by British, it is possible to be proud of them while telling the truth about the colonizers who built them. Similarly, one can celebrate the Taj, after all, it was built by Indian labor, while telling the truth about the Mogul thugs. Very philosophical point and I say a good compromise .
I have been to Germany often, and I am told that the magnificent autobanh was built by Hitler. Germans and whoever visits Germany and drives on the autobahn certainly appreciate it without having to embrace Hitler. In India though there is such a politically correct narrative about Shah Jahan and his love story BS with Mumtaz that is lapped and propagated by the eunuch elite that its a tough battle that people like SudhanshuJi are waging.

BJP is not going for the jugular. The jugular is the sheer anti-Hinduness of the Congress party. Beheading a young calf in Kerala, torturing a Hindu army officer to protect Muslim terrorists & Pakistan, supporting love jehad of Hindu women by Muslim youth, torturing & sexually abusing a Hindu sadhvi to appease Muslims and so on & on it goes. But BJP doesn't want to touch these with a bargepole, why? Do they want to intentionally lose 2019? Congress is stooping lower every day and BJP is not using its brahmastra. May be they are waiting for 2018? I don't know but Vikas narrative is partly dead atleast for urban India. Only Hindutva will save BJP.

Yogi govt may cancel accreditation of 2682 state madrasas for non-filing of details
Yogi govt may cancel accreditation of 2682 state madrasas for non-filing of details

Soon after coming to power in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath led BJP government has sought to regularise the madrasas present in the state.
The compliance included having to on the newly launched “Madrasa Portal” of the state government. The madrasas were required to upload the details of the teachers, support staff and also were required to provide infrastructure details along with photographs.
We had reported in September how the madrasas had become lackadaisical in their approach with only about 3000 out of a total of about 19,143 having registered themselves on the portal. Later it was also reported that, as a response to that the Yogi government had stopped the funding of about 46 fully aided madrasas in the state.
Now it seems that the Yogi government has continued its scrutiny, after reports have claimed that the government may cancel the accreditation of 2,682 madrasas, as they have failed to submit their details on the madrasa portal despite several reminders. Apart from the reminders, even the deadlines for registration were extended twice. Reports also claimed that the 2682 madrasas would now also not be able to avail government benefits.
Reportedly the last date of uploading the details was 15th October and and till then about 16,461 madrasas had successfully uploaded their details which included providing photographs, building and class measurements.
This step which has reportedly been taken by the Yogi government to eliminate possible fraud happening in the religious institutions. The new rules also stipulated that the teachers’ salary was also supposed to be paid online, which had necessitated that their details be provided on the portal. Till the last date, the data of about 32,483 teachers was uploaded online.
This new registration process isn’t the only reason why the state’s madrasas have been in the limelight.
In the buildup to the Independence Day it was reported how the Yogi government had directed all madrasas in the state to unfurl national flag and recite the national anthem on 15th August. They were also asked to photograph/videograph the proceedings.
This had resulted in protests from various corners about the government carrying out a test of patriotism. We had later debunked this whole charge by pointing out how it was standard “Sarkari” circular, which the Yogi government had issued after being instructed to do so by the Allahabad High Court.

I think what is not being said and articulated properly is that the taj can be a tourist destination, nothing wrong with that.crams wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2017 5:46 amThe erudite Sudhanshu TrivediJi was on a roll on TimesNow. However, the history of how it came about must NOT be forgotten - the sacrifices of the men & women who built it and lost their lives/livelihood over it must never be forgotten or sidelined. The two can and should go side by side.

Always feeding wrong versions of history to impressionable minds, the Church in Tamil Nadu seems to have refined its methods this time.
.....And now, the Roman Catholic Church seems to have embraced him and has started promoting him to the unsuspecting students in its academic institution.
One such academic campus happens to be St Joseph’s College, Trichy.
The All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF) had arranged a speech by Seeman in September this year at the college. A large number of impressionable students from the college were made to listen to his rabble rousing speech which was filled with baseless charges against the government. For example, on the goods and services tax (GST), Seeman said to the students that ‘for braille paper and the wheel chair used by the differently abled, there is GST of 5 per cent and 15 per cent respectively but there is no tax for the petrol of Ambani, electricity of Adani and the arrack of Mallya.’
The unsuspecting students exposed to these baseless innuendos erupted into thunderous applause. Even the personal life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not spared. ‘He is roaming around the world while his wife is fighting for maintenance’ the chief guest Seeman remarked again to the thunderous applause of students. Interestingly, even the dignitaries on the dais laughed uncontrollably over these remarks. Then, for Aadhaar, he cursed those in charge, ‘Just watch! All these guys would die of leprosy!’ He also went into pseudo-scientific claims of Tamil being the mother of all world languages. Then he called on the students to have ‘racial pride’ and ‘racial conscience’. The speech was filled with quotes attributed to Mao, Lenin and Marx.
The rhetorical mixture of Tamil nationalism and Maoist socialism leads slowly but surely towards national socialism version – II in Tamil Nadu.
The next month, Trichy saw St Joseph’s College host the cultural conference of another fringe Tamil nationalist group. Named ‘Tamizhaga Penkal Seyal Kalam’ (Tamil women work-field), the organisation had announced earlier on Facebook that for them, Indian Independence Day was a black day. They called it a black day for ‘Kashmiris, Central Indian tribes, Punjabis, Nagaland, Manipuris and Mizos’ as well. (When contacted by this writer by phone, the person who attended the call feigned ignorance and denied that they were secessionists: ‘We consider Tamils being suppressed by India culturally; India is exploiting our resources and destroying our language; we want to find a remedy for this.’

Almost two years ago we did a family reunion bus tour of Rajasthan. It was SHQ's family and there were 32 of us (ages 1 to 81). We toured Agra and Rajasthan, over a 9 day period. 22 of us were from the US. It was a blast. However, as it was around Christmas and New Year holidays, everywhere we went was so packed with Indian tourists that in some places like the Jaipur palaces it was standing room only and we had to abandon any hopes of entering some buildings. Thus, Rajasthan at least does not need any promotion.Singha wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2017 2:50 ampilgrimage tourism is a good money earner for uttarkhand. I used to visit Benaras every time I went to India up until about 3 yrs ago. The place is again full of people, including a large number of foreign tourists. I even met a big group of orthodox Jews! The evening aarti on the Ganga is very popular. However, unlike Rajasthan, Benaras comes across as a very dirty city and it is a pity because it has so much to offer. If they do manage to clean up the ghats and the surrounding areas it would be a wonderful thing, although I suspect people (like myself) go there for spiritual reasons and the filth and garbage is ignored by most.
There is so much that India has to offer by way of tourism and many places are highly successful at promoting it, no reason why UP cannot do more. Law and order, clean roads and updated basic facilities like public toilets would go a long way. I am hopeful YA will rise to the occasion.
Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017
There is something in the news about a 11 year old girl dying out of starvation in Jharkhand last month. Narrative that is picking up is that the family was denied rations due to not having Aadhaar. Anyone, especially a child, dying is a serious matter, but if there is a false narrative that is being built up here, I hope it is countered quickly and firmly. Otherwise the social media will have a ball with this story.

media is attacking modi govt one after another.
baby died of malaria according to DM report. But media is claiming she died of poverty and hunger.
Any death is regrettable but media trying to turn every issue against govt.
there is no denying India scores poorly on global hunger index.
But assuming that Modi sarkar caused this misery is bogus.

'coincidently' no matter when diwali is Delhi air quality becomes 'very poor' on the eve of diwali. Is someone putting pressure on citizens for not to celebrate diwali?
Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017
^^ Absolutely. Media being paid by evangelical organizations to guilt shame Hindus about Diwali. Money coming from American churches. It is very suspicious that articles about pollution only come around Diwali and abruptly cease once Diwali is over. Greed and mercenary nature of Times of India and HT owners largely responsible for this. Media barons and lawyer-politicians have no sense of nationalism. They are the Achilles's heel for India. Anti-Hindu forces find an opening through them.

Its all fine & dandy to "question" on debates and TV channel shows. But even the most gullible of people have started asking, what has been BJP doing for three years when they knew Robert Vadra was a crook from day one? To be frank, Mr. Robert Vadra has not even once visited a police station/CBI office after the BJP folks took over.

Overall, of the 3 agendas, development, anti-corruption and hindutva, BJP failed to deliver on 2 of them. NM should thank his stars that if opposition had been a tad bit stronger in terms of leaders, it would have been 2004 redux.Sachin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 8:31 amBJP questions Cong's silence on Vadra-Bhandari 'links'

Yes...people are wondering why the corrupt not in jail. He was to bring drastic change specially in anti-corruption and this has not happened.
Even the DeMo was not well thought off before it was implemented...almost everyone did jugaad and converted Black to white.

Common folks... how long are we going to ask these kind of questions... Even the physical criminals - murderers and bank robbers - these days get away so cleanly for so long even if the cops and the courts do a good job. Economic criminals and power brokers like Vadra, Maran, Karti, et al not only will hardly leave any footprints from day one but have a truckload of lawyers and accountants and other assorted crooks who constantly clean up behind them to ensure nothing incriminating is ever found. It will be a one in a thousand chance that these will see conviction no matter whether it is Modi or anyone else at the top, especially given our justice system.Sachin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 8:31 amBJP questions Cong's silence on Vadra-Bhandari 'links'

It is a delight to see Jaya or Lalu being convicted once in a while, but the feeling I used to get was how naive or immature they would have been when they committed those acts to leave such open and shut evidence. You cannot expect the Congi's to be so easily caught.
