Leftist Link Emerges In Palghar Sadhus’ Lynching, CPM Leader Accused Of Gathering Armed Mob: Report

A leftist link has now emerged in the brutal lynching and murder of Sadhus in Maharashtra’s Palghar wherein a CPM gram panchayat member has been accused of gathering a mob and the modus operandi in the lynching was similar to that employed by Naxals, Times Now has reported.

Local tribals have also alleged that the youths in the region are being brainwashed by leftists.

As per the report, an FIR lodged in the matter by Son Police alleges that a local CPM gram panchayat member gathered a mob armed with sticks and stones to attack the Sadhus. The Gandchinchle village is said to be a leftist stronghold dominated by the the CPM.

The FIR also claims that roads were blocked by cutting trees and placing boulders which is a common Naxal modus operandi.

this could not have been done without someone high up in the food chain authorizing it

The Wire journalist Junaid Bhat(Source: Facebook)

Journalist with The Wire calls terrorists as martyrs, seen operating close to security forces in Jammu and Kashmir

Junaid Bhat, a photojournalist with ‘The Wire’, has been seen eulogising terrorists and glorifying them on his social media accounts. In several of his tweets, he has called the terrorists who wreak havoc in Kashmir as “martyrs” and blamed the Indian troops for eliminating them.

However, it is a startling fact that the same journalist Bhat has been found sharing intimate details about the movements of the Indian Armed Forces and their anti-terror operations carried out in Jammu and Kashmir. On his social media accounts, the photojournalist Bhat has been sharing his pictures of operating dangerously close to the Indian Army personnel, in the process revealing critical information that should have otherwise remained under the wraps

The dichotomy of a terror apologist operating in close proximity to the Indian Armed Forces in Kashmir was highlighted by Abhijit Iyer Mitra on Twitter. Raising suspicion that Bhat may be feeding intelligence input to terrorists, Mitra shared tweets posted by Bhat where he is seen eulogising and extolling terrorists. The Twitter account of Junaid Bhat has since then been deactivated.
1n this is the “photographer”s Instagram. The intel value is huge. He is showing army locations & casualties. His followers actually say “we are seeing what you do on the ground”. How is this any different to Mumbai 26/11 where ISI was updating Kasab through Indian TV reports? pic.twitter.com/1uzijbvfLQ

— Abhijit Iyer-Mitra (@Iyervval) May 6, 2020
A cursory glance at this journalist’s social media accounts reveals how potentially sensitive information he feeds to the outside world about the ongoing operations in the Kashmir Valley, such as troop movements of Indian Army within Kashmir and photos and visuals of the encounter sites.

While the encounter was underway at Beigpora between the security forces and terrorists, including Hizbul chief Riyaz Naikoo, Bhat shared vital information on Facebook about the encounter such as the visuals and videos that could be used by the terrorists to locate the troops and plan an escape.

On Instagram too, Junaid has been quite active in sharing his bold exploits. In one of the posts, even as the Handwara encounter was underway, Junaid passed off pivotal information such as the count and formation of Indian Army personnel carrying out the encounter. He also added that the top security officials among security men have lost contact with their colleagues.

Bhat shared another photo of himself along with the Armed Forces from the site of Handwara encounter.

After the Handwara encounter had concluded, Bhat shared another photo on his Instagram profile of the Indian Army convoy leaving the site with the number of vehicles in the convoy.

Crucial information such as the convoy details and their chosen route is normally withheld from being made public, for the fear of terrorist attack against them. But this sobering reality doesn’t deter Mr Bhat from sharing the particulars on his social media timeline for global consumption, including terrorists operating inside Kashmir and their handlers in Pakistan.

It is pertinent to note that the Indian Army suffered heavy casualties in the Handwara encounter where an Indian army colonel, a major and two soldiers, along with a Jammu and Kashmir Police sub-inspector, were killed in a counter-terrorist operation in Kashmir late on Saturday.

The above instances, where a terror apologist who also happens to be a journalist with ‘The Wire’, shares vital information about the Indian Armed Forces, reminds one of the disastrous journalism that accompanied the horrifying Mumbai 26/11 attacks where the handlers based out of Pakistan were instructing terrorists in Mumbai about the commando movements based on the Indian TV coverage of the attacks.

The Armed Forces would do well to steer clear of such journalists and reporters who do not exercise restrain in sharing information on their social media pages or who might be willing collaborators with the terrorists to either escape encounters or inflict heavy casualties to the security personnel.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar@rajeev_mp·15h

This perception is unfortntely growing - that Hindus hv a disproportionately higher weight of responsibility to Constitutional and political correctness compared to other communities.

We will hv to address this for true trust n equity amongst all for a strong #India.

Shashi Tharoor@ShashiTharoor

The betrayal of the OCI card-holders is a minor footnote to the tragedies of the migrant workers & other collateral damage of irresponsible governance, but for those who took their "overseas citizenship" seriously, it's calamitous:
@vivekmenezes explains

Overseas Citizens of India feel abandoned, betrayed
Sunny California@desicounty

Replying to @ShashiTharoor and @vivekmenezes

OCI are NOT Indian citizens. So how a third country can betray them? Why do they want to come to India? They should live in the country of their citizenship. Why Indian taxpayers & government should take care of their travel, medical, stay & may be their tickets back?

The Strategic Implications of Indian Corruption

The massive network of corruption now being unraveled has major geopolitical and security implications that reach far beyond India.

By Cleo Paskal
May 13, 2020

The Strategic Implications of Indian Corruption
Indian lawmaker and former Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram waves as he arrives at the Parliament House for a protest against the rise in onion prices, in New Delhi, India, Dec. 5, 2019.

As a result of COVID-19, heavy hitters in the United States and elsewhere are talking about shifting investments and supply chains out of China. This dovetails with existing strategic concerns about Beijing. When looking around the Indo-Pacific for an alternative democracy-compatible, large market that has the potential to be increasingly strategically useful, India pops to the fore.

The Indian strategic community knows it and is chomping at the bit to “take the tide at the flood” and use the opening to redefine India’s place in the world. There is even talk of floating an Indo-Pacific Charter to replace the Atlantic Charter.

There is enormous potential, and at least one major roadblock. One of the biggest strategic mysteries of the past few decades is why India hasn’t lived up to its vast economic potential. Its relatively lackluster growth has not only affected the lives of a billion Indians, it has stunted Delhi’s geopolitical reach at a time when a strong India could be an effective counter to an expanding China.

A series of court cases currently underway in India is starting to decode some of that mystery. What is being alleged is a decades-long complex, sophisticated, high-stakes scheme that led to the multibillion-dollar capture and manipulation of core elements of the Indian economy, masterminded by some of India’s most senior leaders. This is serious.

The highest profile arrest so far is India’s formerly untouchable finance minister, Pallaniappan Chidambaram. The cases against Chidambaram are spearheaded by two investigative agencies, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), a specialized financial investigation agency under India’s Ministry of Finance, and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), India’s main police investigative agency.

Corruption allegations have dogged Chidambaram for years. So why lay charges now? India’s two main political parties, Congress (Chidambaram’s party) and the ruling BJP, spar in public but there seemed to be close ties between some individual members of the two parties, especially where large amounts of money are concerned.

Chidambaram was finance minister on and off for over a decade, most recently in 2014. When Congress lost to Narendra Modi’s BJP in that year, Chidambaram’s old friend Arun Jaitley became the BJP finance minister. In spite of Modi coming in on an anti-corruption vote, there seemed little interest in investigating members of the previous Congress administration and Jaitley continued with many of Chidambaram’s policies.

In 2019 Modi was re-elected and Jaitley was replaced as Finance Minister due to ill-health. As Jaitley’s health waned, so did his influence. Coincidentally or not, Chidambaram was arrested on August 21; Jaitley died August 24.

Since then, the increasingly public allegations against Chidambaram have started to sketch out a massive network of corruption that has major geopolitical and security implications that reach far beyond India.

The allegations involve four elements: how money was made illegally in India; how money was moved out of the country; how money was used abroad; and how money was moved back into India. They involve a network of politicians, bureaucrats, bankers, regulators, financial service providers, money launderers, front companies and more. Chidambaram is not alleged to have been involved in all elements, but rather was part of an extended, embedded system that resulted in stifling economic growth and creating security risks such as opening up some of the highest levels of governance to blackmail.

How Was Money Made in India?

It is alleged that Chidambaram and his network used their positions to put in place people, policies, regulations, and regulators that enabled them to funnel money flows through their offices and favorites, while at the same time shutting down any competition from clean alternatives.

For example, Chidambaram and his network seemingly wanted to promote and protect the National Stock Exchange (NSE) as India’s primary exchange. Competing exchanges, especially successful ones such as those run by Jignesh Shah, were targeted, with the powers of the state used to pound competitors into submission through arrest, audits, seizure of assets, and more. By the time the charges made their way through the courts and are dismissed, is it too late; the competition is destroyed.

Meanwhile, the value of the NSE to its patrons was maximized through a range of mechanisms. One currently being investigated is “co-location,” in which favored brokers were allowed to place their servers adjacent to the exchange, giving them millisecond arbitrage advantages over off-site brokerages. That time advantage combines with high-frequency trading algorithms to produce consistent profits.

Often the manipulation wasn’t that sophisticated. Rumors might be started about problems with the Indian economy; shares drop, are bought low. Then there are statements about corrective measures and shares recover and are sold off. Similar games were allegedly played to manipulate the value of the Indian rupee.

The case that triggered the initial arrest of Chidambaram involved his role as finance minister. His ministry was responsible for approving applications to the Foreign Investment Promotions Board (FIPB), a mechanism for bringing foreign direct investment into India. When the principals of INX Media made a request to fast-track their FIPB application, they were allegedly told by Chidambaram to consider his son Karti’s consulting business. Subsequently, a substantial amount found its way to Karti and the request was approved.

How Was Money Moved out of India?

There is a range of ways to move money out of India, but one of the most concerning is hawala networks. Hawala trading was pioneered in the Islamic world as a way of transferring money without having to physically move cash. If “Joe” in Delhi wants to transfer $50,000 to his brother “Jack” in London, Joe can go to his local Delhi hawala trader, “Bob,” and give him $50,000 cash. Bob calls his hawala contact in London and instructs him to give the $50,000 cash (in local currency) to Jack. The two hawala traders settle their books periodically. And that’s it — no paper trail, no tax, no customs.

That is why hawala is so popular with criminal organizations, terrorism financiers, drug dealers, arms traders, and human traffickers. The network works on what INTERPOL calls “trust” – a trust usually backed by the brutal enforcement of criminal or terrorist organizations. As the money of corrupt politicians joins that flow, they become “invested” in protecting the whole system – and are subject to being blackmailed by the people who run the system itself. This means they are more likely to block prosecution of those facilitating their money flows even if they pose a national security risk to the country.

At one point, Congress leader D. K. Shivakumar was in the same jail as Chidambaram, on pending charges of money laundering via hawala transactions. Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi visited them both in jail.

Sometimes the traditional banking system is used as well. One of the most notorious pending money laundering cases is that of politically well-connected Hasan Ali Khan, who reportedly casually moved an estimated $8 billion. In one case, according to investigators, $300 million was transferred from a Chase Manhattan account into a UBS Khan-linked account for a hotel purchase in Switzerland. The note attached was tagged “Funds from weapons sales.”

Khan’s case has moved at a glacial pace, and the billions that passed through his accounts have disappeared.

How Was Money Used Abroad?

The Enforcement Directorate has identified multiple properties around the world linked to various members of the Chidambaram family. Bank accounts are harder to identify as there are allegations that the Indian government is reluctant to request full lists of illicit accounts held abroad from willing countries.

How Was Money Moved Back Into India?

There are myriad ways of moving money into India, but a popular one during Chidambaram’s time as finance minister was Participatory Notes (P-Notes) handled by companies such as Goldman Sachs. Foreign investors could use P-Notes (via brokers) to buy shares in India, for example on the NSE. Under Chidambaram, the identity of those individual investors was not diligently pursued.

So, if someone got a bribe in India, moved it abroad via hawala, then brought it back in via P-Notes, that money has now been nicely laundered and, if they happen to be running it through a co-locating broker, their investment has also grown.

Meanwhile, however, honest entrepreneurs and investors have come up against invisible walls, been harassed into oblivion, and had their livelihoods destroyed. Tata research estimated that Jignesh Shah’s markets were supporting up to a million jobs. When he was shut down, seemingly for being too much competition to a corrupt system, a lot of that potential was shut down as well. That’s happened all over the Indian economy.

It is remarkable that Chidambaram is awaiting trial. But the tentacles constricting the Indian economy still reach deep into the system. There are desperate and well-resourced efforts to scupper the cases. This is a crucial inflection point not only for India, but for global balance of power.

If India is freed from the shackles of deep corruption, it could help spread growth and stability beyond its borders. Those fighting corruption in India need all the support they can get: more external media coverage of the issues, cooperation from foreign governments in tracking illegal money flows, more scrutiny of the operations of international financial institutions, and more. If not for India’s sake, then for our own.

Was this really just an "accident"?

Palghar mob lynching victim’s lawyer dies in a road accident, BJP demands CBI probe
According to reports, Digvijay Trivedi, on his way to the Dahanu Court, was driving the car and was accompanied by a woman. He lost control of the car and crashed into the divider at around 10.30 am on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway. Advocate Trivedi died on the spot, while the woman who was accompanying him in the car suffered serious injuries. She has been admitted to the hospital.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sambit Patra raised questions on the death of Advocate Trivedi and said, “VHP’s lawyer in the Palghar mob lynching case, Digvijay Trivedi, died in a road accident. This news is disturbing. Is it a mere coincidence that those who raised the Palghar case were either attacked by Congress workers or got FIRs registered against them? Well this is a matter of investigation!.”

Mahants of Kashi Vishvanath Mandir bans entry of Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan after he asked govt to appropriate all gold from Hindu temples

Days after former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan stoked a controversy by suggesting the government to extract gold from the Hindu temples in the country to use in the war against Coronavirus, the Mahant fraternity of Shiva’s abode and Jyotirlinga Kashi Vishvanath has decided to ban Chavan and his family from entering the temple situated in Varanasi.

According to the reports, the Mahant of Jyotirlinga Kashi Vishvanath temple has not only decided to ban Chavan and his family from entering the temple situated in Varanasi but also urged other Jyotirlinga temples to take similar action against the Congress leader for his irresponsible comment.

The new trend in India to Ban Tiktok. Tiktok is really dangerous for Indian Youth. A TikTok user Faisal Siddiqui is promoting Acid attacks by the platform. Tiktok has a clear agenda towards Indian youth. All Muslim guys are TikTok stars and they are spreading Jihad by small videos. They are targeting Hindu girls directly. if you will see some of the videos it is really about conversion. Their audience is the 14-19 year young generation. in three days TikTok ratings down from 4.6 to 2.

It is going to affect Hindu youth very badly. #bantiktok in India

Ground Report:

as we all know Muslims festival Eid al-Fitr is coming up. All Muslims are purchasing goods from Muslim people. They are supporting their community. But because of some secular Hindus, we are not supporting our community. Even in markets, you can see their agenda. I talk to a Hindu shopkeeper then he told me that Muslims are not coming because they are ordered by Masjid and Molvis.

It looks like the JNU, jamia milia and cpi-ml mafia have suddenly discovered that they do not have the choice of selecting the prosecutors.

For five years they had a free run in dilli because they were very sure that dilli police lawyers appointed by khujliwal would sabotage all the cases against them.

This happened after the dilli police got the powers to appoint it's own prosecutors. Before that it was AAP that appointed it's own set of public prosecutors.

Till now, the dilli police was mandated to use lawyers appointed by the dilli govt. These lawyers, usually aaptards or aap supporters, would simply sabotage the police cases. Now, for anti CAA riots the dilli police have the right to appoint their own lawyers and for the first time the dilli police will be fighting a proper case.

and the moral of the story: Mota Bhai is meticulous. It took him around a year to cut the legal gordian knot in dilli. This has become the big worry for the slimy FFNGO biggies who work behind the scenes, creeps like harsh mander, yogendra yaday, et al and the pappi dilli govt itself

this was the case earlier
Delhi HC order from August 2016, which ruled that “it is not open to the Lt. Governor to appoint the Special Public Prosecutor on his own without seeking aid and advice of the Council of Ministers”. The ruling was later confirmed by a Constitution bench of the Supreme Court as well.

The Central government has decided that the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi may, at his own discretion, appoint law officers to represent the Delhi Police and the NCR government before constitutional courts.

The order passed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on March 12 reads,

"With respect to the appointment of legal officers to represent cases of Delhi Police, it is decided that in respect of those cases which do not fall within the ambit of Section 24 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.PC) eg. Public Interest Litigations (PILs), Writ Petitions (WPs), etc., the following is ordered with immediate effect.:-

i. Lt. Governor (LG) Delhi may at his own discretion, appoint Law officers(s), and/or other Senior Advocate(s)/Advocate(s), to assist such Law Officer(s) to represent Delhi Police/Government in Constitutional Courts i.e. Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi."

The Order adds that before the Supreme Court, the Delhi Police can be represented by any law officers along with Advocates to assist the law officer so appointed.

On a related note, last month, the Home Department of the NCT of Delhi intimated that a team led by Solicitor General for India Tushar Mehta will represent Delhi Police before the Delhi High Court and other fora in all matters related to the Delhi Riots.

Subramanian Swamy@Swamy39·13h

Today another folly of Nehru emerges from historical records: When the Ranas ruled Nepal, and Nepal royalty was in India. the Rana rulers like other rajas in India offered to merge in India in 1950. Nehru declined!! A genetic flaw runs in one family--so banish family rule

How Delhi Police foiled secret plan to revive Shaheen Bagh movement

Rajat Sharma
June 05, 2020

For the last few days I had been getting news about attempts being made to revive the Shaheen Bagh movement in Delhi. Viewers may remember, this movement by groups of Muslim women was launched in south-east Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh locality from December 11 last year and ended abruptly on March 24 this year when the nationwide lockdown began.

The round-the-clock sit-in by women at Shaheen Bagh led to closure of the main arterial road connecting south-east Delhi with Noida causing woes to thousands of commuters for more than three months. The protesters were demanding withdrawal of Citizenship Amendment Act, National Register of Citizens and National Population Register.

There were reports that women and children were being persuaded to sit on indefinite dharna inside tents again at Shaheen Bagh. There were also reports of students of Jamia Milla Islamia preparing to sit on dharna outside the university’s main gate.

India TV reporters went out to investigate and confirmed that a major attempt was made to revive the movement on June 3. The plan was carried out secretly and the aim was to mislead several thousand people to gather at the site all of a sudden, without giving any clue to the police. Messages were being circulated in WhatsApp groups asking people to congregate at Shaheen Bagh on June 3 to join the protest. The hashtag was #SabYaadRakhaJayega .

The activists, in order to give police a slip, refrained from using old WhatsApp groups and known Twitter handles. To conceal the real intention, it was named as a nationwide protest, but in reality, it was not so. There were also reports of secret meetings going on inside houses in Jamia and Shaheen Bagh localities. The purpose was to chalk out a plan for women and children to reach the site suddenly.

Delhi Police however got to know about this and erected its own tents at the particular site to forestall the game plan of the activists. Police was also deployed outside Jamia Millia Islamia to prevent gatherings of students.

This time, the agitators had decided to make an issue about the arrests of JNU activists Sharjeel Imam, Ishrat Jahan, Khalid Saifi and Sheikhaur Rahman, and Jamia activists Safoora Zargar, Meeran Haider and Asif Iqbal.

The WhatsApp messages claimed that nearly 200 organisations had given the call for a nationwide protest. While sifting through the names, India TV reporters found most of the outfits belonged to Communists with CPI and CPI(M) leanings. These were the groups which had been waging protests over CAA and NRC issues. Muslim students and women were kept in the forefront, while the Left outfits were providing backup support.

Due to alertness of Delhi Police, the plan to revive Shaheen Bagh movement from June 3 was foiled, and police have been deployed at the trouble spots.

Political forces, which are unable to digest the landslide victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in last year’s Lok Sabha elections, were happy when the Shaheen Bagh movement began. They though they have gained the support of Muslim voters on CAA and NRC issues. With the spread of Coronavirus, these outfits were completely stumped.

Had the virus not originated from China and spread to the West, they could have easily blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating this virus scare in order to deflect people’s attention from Shaheen Bagh movement.

With the onset of the pandemic, these agitators stood no chance. They knew that their own lives and the lives of women and children were at stake. They were unwilling to take such a big risk. With the nationwide lockdown in force, their movement was bound to fizzle out.

After the unlocking process began and restrictions were relaxed, these forces again joined hands and decided to revive the Shaheen Bagh movement. But times have changed. The police had its informers ready and the plan was nixed in the bud. Thus, another form of ‘virus’ that was to affect our body politic, was put to an end.
