BJP has quietly replaced both Shivraj Chauhan in MP and Raman Singh in CG. RJ is also expected to see change.

So the CJI and justice Lalit himself had no idea that justice Lalit had a conflict of interest when he was appointed to the bench. It is a delaying tactics. I think the muslim side is not sure of the case.

^ As per media reports, Lalit's involvement with Kalyan Singh was in a case completely unrelated to the RJB issue, something about some personal matter. Therefore it should not have had any bearing on this situation, but the lawyer from the Muslim side (Dhawan) was very clever in mentioning it, while saying 'it does not bother me'. Lalit had no option but to recuse himself as it would otherwise mar the workings and protocols of the SC.

End result is the trial is delayed again. I suspect the opposition will keep doing this until the election is over.

However, the devil in me hopes that this will backfire badly on them, especially if it becomes well known and well accepted that it is an attack on the Hindus by the Congoon-pasand crowd. "Wo log mandir nahin banana chahte'. Might just cause enough outrage for a massive pro-Modi wave. Given all the other stuff that has been happening, it is a possibility, just need enough awareness to go around.

Some middle class, who are hooked up on Bollywood, watch standup comedies that deride Modi, will still ask "But where is my 15 lakhs?"

CBI director kicked out of his post a day after he returns, post the SC verdict.

Piyush Goyal @PiyushGoyal

Indeed, Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge is a man of amazing consistency.

When Shri Alok Verma was appointed CBI chief by the selection committee, he dissented.

Now, when Shri Alok Verma has been removed by the same Selection Committee, he has dissented.

But the problem is "You can wake up a person who is genuinely sleeping, but you cannot do the same to a person acting asleep" ;). Any way it was some real quick action from Modi in kicking out Alok Verma again. And with the Supreme Court nominee also concurring with GoI's stance, chances of the order getting annulled is pretty less. Shri. Kharge who once opposed Alok Verma's appointment would now remain as the last man who supported his position .

Which also gives me a feeling that Sabari Mala issue too would be a kept on the slow burner for some time. Ram Janmabhoomi at Northern parts of India, and Sabari Mala on the southern part. Both temples really close to people's heart. Lots of hope on the government (political parties) to help them. Being a matter of faith, people's mindset can be changed.

Sir some of the stuff is bogus, Home loan should have been 13% and 9.5 %, Tax on resutuarants, 5.6% Service Tax, 4% Vat and not 18%

Meanwhile Gadkari fans seems to be on the move... ;)
The man from Nagpur
--
Those who work in the BJP and have grown with the party will tell you that the grain of the BJP is against a Congress-style central command. It is another matter that they have tolerated this, given the spectacular mandate that Modi got the party....

There are many things going for Gadkari. He is a former party president, he is known to be close to the RSS, he is considered an ‘achiever’ in the sense that he can truly be credited with the policies that have allowed Indian roads and surface transport to take off, with models that have worked..

In that sense, he is a doer of the things that need to get done under our current model of development, not the glamour publicity-seeker who might speak of a Japanese bullet train that admittedly (in Modi’s own words) will have no commuters but will but will still be bought only to make a point to the world.

All that needs to be done in the CBI case is establish the connection between Deputy Director AK Sharma who diluted the look out notice on Mallya and Aloke Verma and possibly congress.
Modi has to be re elected for the clean up to continue. It will take years or even decades. There can't be a Modi every time, but there can be a system put in place by Modi to end corruption.

India TV-CNX opinion poll out. BJP/NDA in similar situation as before 2014. 245 seats NDA. Short of clear majority. Will need some good slog overs.

Folks -

Here are the links to keep up with all the opinion polls. Use these for context when you post.

LS 2014: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_p ... l_election

LS 2019: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_p ... l_election

Current summary:

Opinion polls in Dec 2013-Jan 2014 predicted 211-231 for NDA.

Opinion polls in Dec 2018-Jan 2019 predicted 257-291 for NDA (without SP-BSP tieup) and 225-247 for NDA (with SP-BSP tieup).

The baseline this time is definitely higher than last time.

My opinion:

The polls won't tell us much more than this, so no need to take them too seriously. Just like in 2014, they will all show the same number around 250 or so for the next 2 months. Might get an uptick as we get close (like in April) as voter preferences sharpen and one can get higher signal-to-noise ratio.

The fundamental reason is that a 2-3% vote swing is all that it takes to dramatically increase the seat conversion from 250 to 330+. Polls can't predict reliably within that margin...except for sheer stupid luck.

These are very early days. Most parties haven't started their campaigns, although NaMo seems to have launched a blitzkrieg of 100+ rallies focusing on seats that the party has never won before.

On BGR, let's stay positive and close ranks, and keep the whining/wailing/admonitions in the freezer till May (they are of no help now).

Guys, I am seething with anger at the making a mountain out of a mole on what Pandya said by the cheap westernized Bimbos imitating militant white feminism. Some chutiya Bimbo even called Pandya's crap as 'hate speech'. Give me a break.

I mean WTF was so "mysogynistic'" in what Pandya said. Of course, it was crass and crude, and in any case he apologized. The prick was carried away by whatever success and money and fame he has achieved. And the moron himself looks like another deracinated idiot thinking he is some calypso elite just like the feminist Bimbos who gunned for his head.

Also, I am mystifyed as to why the axe fell on poor Rahul. What did he say that was even remotely offensive?

All this crap reeks of excessive superficial self righteous indignation to proves some point as though we are soooo pristine and pure that we will not tolerate even some silly supercilious imbecility from a a 25-year old kid. Probably trying to outdo cricket Australia for banning Smith and Garner. And of course the arrogance of our westernized femi nazis. I hope someone has the balls to show these b!tches their place under the sun.

I hope the bans are reversed very quickly, both are talented blokes and India needs them, Rahul's poor performance in the tests notwithstanding.

^^This is at the residence of a fella named MA Yusuf Ali...owner of the "Lulu group" in KL and some businesses in UAE among other things. I am assuming Pappu has gone there for a donation, since this guy is a Congi supporter (was handed out a Padma Shri in 2008 by Pratibha tai).

It seems Pappu tried a NaMo-style "address to the diaspora" but got ripped apart by a teenager:

https://postcard.news/deadly-dubai-cong ... questions/
But the second question asked by the Girl totally ashamed the Congress President and he was having no answer to give for it. She asked, “Congress prides itself for having ruled India for several decades. The welfare and development that were not achieved then, will be done now?”

Unable to face this embarrassment, Congress President Rahul Gandhi dismissed it with a smile, like he does always. According to sources in Dubai after this moment the airing of the telecast was abruptly cut by the Congress.

Not only the girl embarrassed him by asking about his party’s contribution but also slammed him by raising Prime Minister Modi and his contribution towards the motherland. The girl said that India got its recognition across the world only after Prime Minister Modi took over the office.

Apart from this the little girl also advised Congress President to seek votes with the promise of providing corruption- free governance instead of dividing the society on the basis of caste. The audience was stunned by the intelligence and view point of little girl and cheered her with thundering applause.

India TV- CNX opinion poll. Who will be PM? Modi at 41%, RG at 23%, rest much lower. Voters issue - Modi's work at No 1, corruption not a major issue for most people. Sea change from 2014 when corruption was a major issue.

BGR folks on twitter: perhaps you can tweet various news channels and ask them to change their format of showing LS predictions.

Instead of simply showing some seat numbers without any indication of how close the margins are or how the trends change, they should show a map of India (or individual states as needed) as follows:

- All 543 seats color-coded by which formation (NDA/UPA/others) is predicted to be ahead
- The colors can be shaded dark or light depend on whether it is a strong lead (say 5% or more) or a weak lead.
- Another color for seats that are tossups/too close to call (i.e. within the error margin)

This is a much more honest and useful way of covering the elections.
