Ground rules:
1) Do not use abusive language
2) If you have to, critique the content but do not criticize the poster
3) Disagree without being disagreeable.

Does seem to be a concerted campaign to sabotage train tracks. Authorities are not speaking to not cause panic?

Most likely investigations are in a sensitive stage.

Things look dicey for BJP in the coming Gujarat assembly elections.
Some points to note:

1. A total of 6 'youths' from Hardik patel's whatever movement 'raised slogans' which has been made == disruption and major embarassment and what not by IE and assorted mediawalas.

2. lotus has spent ~20 yrs in power in Guj. Bound to be an uphill battle now with anti-incumbency kicking in.

3. Losing GJ is not == losing DL or even BH. Much more impact on national stage and loss of politial capital for MAD onlee.

All in all, I'd say BJP will still scrape through, somehow. Shah's grand projections of 150 seats outta 182 are unlikely to fructify, only

Report on twitter say sacking of a police thana happened. When cops can't protect themselves, who'll they protect amongst mangos? No wonder clamour for organizing yindoo yoots into political and even muscle-based pressure groups hasbeen steadily rising onlee. The muslims have shown it is oh-so-effective, onlee.

I await yogi sarkar's response. Hopefully it won't be knee-jerk but well thought out, combing and cordoning ops, flush out organizers, funders and planners of such stuff, not just pawns onlee.

Good police treatment will also help. Or so one hopes.

Police of UP during the long rule of BSP and SP became weak and caste based. It takes time to build their confidence etc and install a measure of professional conduct in them.

I'm liking shah's aggression.

Amit Shah to march against red and jihadi terrorism in Kerala (HT)
Shah will meet families of political violence and address a meeting in Pinarayi, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s village on October 5.

2019 elections is only 18 months away. We need a thread to collect data for use in SM and to disseminate widely later. Especially we need to collect info on journos, congis, commies who will be fighting for their survival and we need to gove that final kick.

Very much so. The same happened in UP. This is why I fear for the HSR line.

One such obstacle and there will be huge destruction and loss of life. It will be impossible to police the entire length of the track. I'm not sure what policies will be in place for the safety of people and property.

Sabotage is a real threat, but withholding progress and changing our way life means we are surrendering with out fight. Current HSR is just between 2 states, both the states have decent IB and HUMINT.

Plus the HSR will be mostly elevated, and harder to cause mischief in.

Government needs to change the law and mandate life imprisonment for people deliberately trying to sabotage railway tracks to derail trains. If accident happens due to sabotage and people die, then death sentence to saboteurs and their masterminds. It should be treated same as premeditated murder.

More important, setup special courts/ fast-track tribunals for nat-sec cases with peremptory decisions (i.e., no appeal).

Some sentencing guidelines for nat-sec cases couldn't hurt either, IMHO.

WB does not really have an opposition.
No one will defy Mamata on the streets.

I thought people will come out to uphold their traditions, especially after that big pan-state rallies organized few months back.

Traditionally immersion occurs on dashami.
Ekadashi(the muharram day) is not traditionally an auspicious day for immersion.
People will never come out on their own if they do not see an politically viable alternative.
A present WB BJP is a joke. Hindu sanhati politically supports mamata - they chose their battles.
Mamata - other than jihadi issue, is still popular among poor hindus.
She has virtually no opposition on the streets.

I guess I posted this before - one cannot be powerful in WB without actual street power and organization.
