Sloppyness cost us the test. Fielding was terrible when SA batted first - Dhawan’s drop at slip cost 30-40 runs. Then the batting in our first innings was so poor - batsmen poking at deliveries they could easily have left alone.

first innings, some wickets were thrown. hope they learn.
pujara getting out first ball after lunch with an ugly poke..expected better from him.
our successes have come from vijay and/or pujara staying in the wicket for long periods..if both of them fail, we will be shot out like this.
bowling has proven themselves..under pressure in second innings and we shot them out for 130..coming back after the 'let off' in first innings when SA scored 50 plus runs with the tail.
lot's of positives actually..won't write off this team yet.

Need to be little more aggressive, we were too defensive. BTW, please bring back Rahul and Rahane. Should have won this match, batting cost us, highly unusual for us.

i would say the opposite. it is usually the batting that costs us overseas. our bowlers then come under pressure because of poor batting and losing it as well.
it's logical right - our quicks usually perform better in pace friendly conditions while our batsmen don't click that well and have to adjust a lot..

This should be etched in stone every where until cricket lovers of India stop analyzing why the team fails overseas

Pleasantly surprised to see two young fast bowlers bowlers in the U-19 world cup.

The Indian pacers, consistently clocking in the 140s, outshone the Australians and took them by surprise. Overall, India was better in every department of the game and deservedly cruised to a comfortable victory in their opener against Australia."

It is Mavi's turn to bounce batsmen out. 143kmph short delivery that climbs steeply onto the batsman, Bartlett is cramped for room and is nowhere close to playing the pull, still goes for it and only splices it back to the keeper, who takes the sitter. Yep, this experiment has to be proven to be a failure once and for all. We have plenty of talent in the wings. So there is no point in continuing with Rohit. If Rahane is not up to mark, there is Iyer. And there is another tamil nadu fast bowling allrounder who could add more balance. He is a batting allrounder and averages 49 in Ranji. Surprising Kohli and the selectors continue with Rohit.

No, they appear to be in the Stein mould, 5'9-5'11 range.

Forgot Malinga.
Height does have advantages, but with higher height comes high probability of lower back problems.
Also when you can hit 150 kmph, height disadvantage is negated. We all have seen how many batsmen Akhtar has floored by his bouncers.
