Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017
The Christian subsidy articles is dated Mar '15. Nothing has happened since and rightly so.
A BJP leader in Bandra (Mumbai) arranged for the Christians to meet the CM and ask for this subsidy - as they periodically do in several states.
IMO he had done this to try and change perceptions in the Christian community, because the Bandra assembly seat is the fiefdom of a local Muslim leader who repeatedly wins the seat purely on the strength of the large Muslim and Christian population. In the Municipal elections too, a far more able (in my view) BJP candidate lost due to voting on communal lines. As a former resident of Bandra, I tell people they have got the representatives they deserve and not to complain about crumbling infra etc, if that is not a factor that influences their voting decision.
P.S - I'm a Christian and oppose any kind of subsidy for pilgrimages outside India. It is fine within India (e.g. Kumbh Mela or Amarnath yatra)
as the money is spent in India and either results in better infrastructure in the pilgrimage spot, or more pilgrims, both of which have a multiplier
effect on the local economy.

Deans, if I may say so, you are more Indic than many Hindus I know and some on this very forum. You are a rare person who sees the larger picture. In my vision of the world, this is how everyone should be. I am as unhappy with Hindus who are exclusive of others as I am with anyone else.Deans wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2017 6:58 am

Journey of Transforming India
Got this on e-mail, and it is a summary of the anti-Black money initiatives till date. Have not managed to go through the data in detail.
MLA Anand Singh, local BJP leaders participate in Tipu Jayanti
Looks like the BJP in Karnataka is not very united with the MLAs themselves giving a long stick to the "seculars" to bash them up. Way to go!
Solar case: Chandy says close associate blackmailed him..
People who can read & understand Malaylam can perhaps read the Justice Sivarajan Commission report instead of a good old porn book. The report is on the "Solar case" in Kerala, in which the then Congress ministry was accused of cheating/swindling money out of a woman who wanted to get a contract to fix solar panels in various places in the state. The woman is no angel. What is "explosive" on the report is the explicit mentions of the s-exual acts which the top Congress leaders engaged with the woman, Saritha Nair. The top story is of the then CM Oommen Chandy getting a fellatio from the woman . Such stories run quite well in Kerala, and today many of the established and upcoming youth leaders of Kerala have got their names (and acts) in the report. Also in the list is K.C Venugopal MP, who is also now overseeing Congress party work in Karnataka. The commies in Kerala seems to be totally bashing in the Congress; this time around it is like there is no opposition party in Kerala State Assembly.

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017
What's happening in Telangana? It seems KCR and TRS's popularity is only increasing and he will win in 2019 too. But why did Revanth Reddy leave TDP to join congress? Wouldn't it make more sense to join TRS or BJP? Does congress have any chance in the next 5 to 10 years in Telangana and AP? Is there any progress from BJP?
Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017
My opinion: on any given day, if you have nothing much to Tom Tom about, its better to keep your mouth shut than utter such inanities. WTF gives a s!it as to whether the world thinks India is powerful or not. Frankly, such a statement coming during the week when in fact all that the would is talking about is air pollution in Delhi, such gas only add to the pollution .Trilobite wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2017 6:35 pmWorld Has Realised India Belongs To Club Of Powerful Nations: Rajnath Singh

ABVP held a huge show of strength in Tvm, KL y'day. ABVP leaders from all over the country did #KeralaChalo to participate.
Checkout the #ABVPMahaRally hash-tagged posts in twitter. V heartening. Sample this:
Good pics set too in the tweet.

Will say it again. Rallies are a great way to announce and demonstrate street presence, street cred in desi politics. Much needed. This coming after the Mukul Roy mega rally in Kolkata recently. Is this a shift in tactics from BJP?

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017
The Malayalam news media is as expected downplaying the rally. In the social media, there is also a systematic attempt to show the rally in poor light with off course North India shown as a very uncouth, unhygenic place. The social media in Kerala has a sizeable commie presence, and the news which is getting highlighted is of many ABVP workers being fined by the police because they were travelling with out valid train tickets (read it as - "North Indians do not buy train tickets, BUT in Kerala that is not allowed"), and pictures of Deep Trench Latrines (DTLs) shown to say that the ABVP folks would be $hitting in open space and make the place dirty (read it as - "North Indians are unhygenic, do not use toilets and is now making Kerala also filthy"). Such campaigns are generally done in Malayalam, so that the ABVP folks from other part of the country may not be knowing what is being said against them. The Kerala ABVP and BJP folks are trying to counter it, but numbers are naturally against them (more commies v/s less Sanghies). As a Keralite, who have made my life outside the state; some times I feel sad when I see such tactics. A state where pretty much every graduate has to pick their bag and go outside looking for a job, has no shame in vilifying other states where many of their own people make a living .Hari Seldon wrote:ABVP held a huge show of strength in Tvm, KL y'day. Would certainly help us non-mallus know what the mighty mallus think of us anyways. And information is power.
Can then confront mallu job-seekers for their opinions on such pieces of wisdom. Would at least help ID and weed out the commie riffraff amongst the job seekers.
P.S. I'm sorry to say that moi impression of mallus and west bengalis as in-general nice, fair-minded folk has come down quite a bit based on the 24x7 commie indoctrination spanning decades they likely were subjected to in their home states against the rest of us only. Wouldn't be surprised if they feel sincerely disgusted by the rest of us Indians. Only. Sigh. They're on their own anyway. They voted the commies in. They'll reap the whirlwind.

Guys, call it dhothi shivering if you like, but such news about Congoons winning by elections worries me. I mean last year, even in by elections and municipal polls, BJP was trouncing Pappus's slaves. Interesting, on this MP by election, Cogoons have slimily played the Hinduthva card with possibly some promises of free goodies, exactly the BJP formula

^ Chitrakoot is a longtime Cong bastion. I wouldn't worry too much over it.
And some small-market corrections are always better than major crashes, crs garu. If these minor defeats help reduce complacency in the PIF camp, well and good only.

One brick oft gets thrown at Modi sarkar- jobs.
Here's one interesting experiment in that critical job-creation area. Hope it succeeds, even if away from media cameras and studio debates.
Modi govt plans to target 'barefoot entrepreneurs' to boost job creation (mint)
Here's one interesting experiment in that critical job-creation area. Hope it succeeds, even if away from media cameras and studio debates.
Modi govt plans to target 'barefoot entrepreneurs' to boost job creation (mint)
And it gets better and better. Nice to see a sarkar that talks the talk, at least (see below). We'll see about the walking part.New Delhi: The central government has hatched a new plan to generate jobs: empower the informal economy. {Great slogan. Like Pappu's "women empowerment" circa 2014. What's beyond theslogan is what makes this initiative interesting, IMHO.}
Accordingly, the skills ministry proposes to reach out to tens of thousands of “barefoot entrepreneurs”, largely in the informal economy, and to train, mentor and equip them to join the formal economy and help in creating hundreds of thousands of new jobs, according to at least two government officials.
These barefoot entrepreneurs are those engaged in businesses ranging from kirana stores to tailoring shops, from roadside vendors to small business owners engaged in sundry services in smaller towns and subdivisions. {Nice. make it easy or them to hire, fire, register, pay low taxes etc then pls. Ease of doing biz and all, after all.}
The skills ministry has identified Chhapra in Bihar to launch a pilot project. {Jai ho. If it can fly inChapra, BH it can bl00dy well fly anywhere, maybe even in WB!}
“If 15 million of such establishments add even one more employee to their current capacity then 15 million new jobs will get created,” said a top government official, one of the two cited earlier. Both spoke on condition of anonymity.
The new approach comes at a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party-National Democratic Alliance government has been targeted by the opposition—especially in the ongoing election campaign for the Gujarat assembly—for allegedly not generating enough jobs. {And rightly so, IMHO. THis charge will likely stick regardless of its merits.}
“The aim is to achieve scale on this. A formal scheme is being formulated for implementing this initiative,” the second of the two officials said, adding that India is a “country of entrepreneurs and helping these people at the grassroots will boost employment generation”. {Motherhood and apple pie at this stage but hang on ...}
“If some one wants to open a cycle store, or a cloth store or a restaurant, we should be able to guide him or her. There are government schemes like Mudra from where the person can get a loan to jumpstart his business instead of working for someone and earn let’s say Rs7,000-8,000,” said the second official.
The first official said once millions of small businesses are hand-held to become self-sustainable it would expand the base for the goods and services tax and also formalize the informal economy.
“Jobs needs to be created at the place where you have candidates. Else we see this migration problem. One may argue that it won’t be called quality jobs but you have to remember that even after engineering, thousands of students are not even earning Rs15,000 a month,” this person said.
“Any effort that boosts entrepreneurship will create jobs, that’s better than a situation where the problem is, as some say right now, jobless growth,” said S. Parasuraman, director at the Tata Institute of Social Science.

Guys what is your take on ABVP losing in Varanasi? Last place you'd expect ABVP losing.

I am told it was all caste-based voting there. No major issue. University politics in many areas anyway only suitable to overground naxals doing arts courses.

This is getting to be a habit and is getting annoying.
Is the Modi Govt trying to kiss up to Pakistan by healing their kids? Why is Sushma Swaraj on Twitter all the time responding to random Pakis who need help? She is top minister in the GoI, so should help Indians and maybe PoI, but not Pakis who are an enemy nation.
They most likely avail of treatment, and go home and exude more hate against Hindus. Gullible Hindus as we have been for 1000 years.
Virtue Signaling will be the end of us.

NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's prompt action has ensured a visa to India for a Pakistani child in need of surgery for a rare heart disease.
The son of a Pakistani national, Touqeer Ali, is required to undergo an open heart surgery for a rare heart defect, Congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (CCTGA). The family had been running from pillar to post to seek treatment for their child. After being turned down by the doctors of Pakistan and Dubai, the family applied for an Indian visa on September 18.

Even Pakis are mocking her as "Aunty" who is ever ready to help. She is behaving more like "Mausi"of Pakistanis than Foreign Minister of a large and powerful country

Give the lady a break. The strategic end of her job is run entirely by Modi. She is left with the tactical stuff and optics. She is doing it to stay relevant in the headlines. The hope is that this will pay off some day when an alternative to Modi might be sought within BJP.
As long as the Pakis bring in dollars to avail our ample medical services, we can enjoy the optics created by Aunty-ji. We need to worry if some bleeding heart starts offering free medical care to Pakis or enables them to receive organ transplants ahead of the many Indians who deserve those organs. Chennai seems to be a favorite destination for eye surgeries. Let us hope that the docs are not selling donor eyes to the Pakis.

Sushma aunty in forced on India due residual D4 power. NM could not deny the top position to the leader of the opposition in LS before elections. She canvassed had for some "respectable" ministry and she got this. She knows her future is not assured. There is worthwhile work she can do. NM and many who are not close to D4 cabal do not trust her. She has no popularity. What else can she do?

Ahmedabad: Hearing in Jay Shah’s defamation case adjourned after he fails to show up in court
Case has got adjourned to Dec 16th, and I understand Gujrath goes to poll much before that. But the "seculars" have already crying that adjournement is because Jay Shah had some thing to hide, and he does not want all that to come out during the election season.
