EC site isn't telling us what percentage of votes have been counted in each constituency. An important indicator to tell us if we should expect one or more surprise flips before the day is over.

He might be leading, As per eciresults.nic.in, no seat at this point 11:00 AM is declared as won.
Times Now is projecting that he will retain his seat because of a 15000 vote lead.

Oh man, what a ride!

Looks like BJP grabbed victory by a whisker! Almost felt that Congis were going to form government in Gujarat :)) That was close

So, as per TOI, at 11:25 AM, BJP is at 105, down by 10 due to 22 years of anti-incumbency, RaGa, GST, DeMo, caste coalitions, patidar blah blah blah etc. Not bad, no?

BTW, Sensex is up by 240.92

This morning looked like worst nightmare ever.
Glad that elders in Gujarat saved the nation again.!

Caste is a menace. No wonder invaders had free run for centuries.

Now BJP down to 103, the Thing is looks like INC plus extrapolating the results has got about 1.5 crore votes. Including under aged people, there are about 2 crore people in Gujarat who believe in the C-system?

The die-nasty's slaves are already crediting the "prince" for this performance show.... What a bunch of boot lickers.... But the best thing to happen is the ascension of the prince. As long as he is at the helm, BJP can rest assured. In that aspect this idiots last minute interview, that was clearly in violation of the EC guidelines, helped the fence sitters to come out and vote for BJP I think :)

Vote share of BJP is up 2 percentage points.
All 16 seats in Surat to the BJP. GST and DeMo issues?

It seems the Gujarat floods have played a role, once a year with normal rainfall with the benefits of Narmada Project available even this will evaporate for INC. I am suprised why Gujaratis after 22 years cannot have an alternate opposition party to the INC?

Let the Yindoo opinion eco system continue to build up. If BJP has to be made more pro-Hindutwa, as I see it the only option is to have an even more right wing party in the opposition. Let various Hindu organisations try for such a scheme.

Man!! This was indeed a good fight. I switched on the TV at 0830Hrs, the lead was very high for BJP. Made some sarcy posts in social media, had my bath and came back to see Congress leading. And honestly, I thought the Sanghies have got it wrong this time. Any way, this is also a good lesson for BJP to introspect. One leader like Modi, and lots of useless fellows just hanging on his coat tail and trying to win elections will not work for very long.

They can continue to do that . Reporter TV had a Congress chap who as expected said Modi should resign, as the Congress is now sure winning Gujrath. 20 mins down the line, the trends changed; the same chap was now asked for his opinion. He said, he still feels BJP has lost as the seats have come down; hence this is a victory for the Congress .

From what I read on some news reports. Patidar strong areas did vote against the BJP in many areas, but Dalits and Tribals favoured BJP big time. I think there is strong protest in the business communities of Gujarath. Better for the BJP not to overlook that angle.

Now as per EC website its 107 BJP, 69 INC. If BJP by final round of counting can 115 it will be good.

Re NDTV, their are massive similarities to Pak mentality. They lost all wars and still think they won. Cong lost Guj and still think they won ! Rahul ji PBUH was calling for another bhukamp if I recall correctly. Given all the Hardik Patel drama and years of anti incumbency, BJP is still okay. Now trick is to break Hardik Patel.

^^^ Agree! But I wouldn't worry about Hardik... these kind of people have a way of fading into irrelevance. I will be most happy to see the years of hard work by Ahmad Patel in concocting this evil brew go to waste! For him, it will be back to the drawing board... reminds me of Wily coyote vs the roadrunner!:rotfl:

Alright folks, i am sitting in Al-Qaerala today and feeling very happy about the results.

As I mentioned before, my take is this: the Congis must have thought the pre-election atmosphere to be the perfect storm...GST, notebandi, patel unrest, blah blah. Now even after plugging away at all this, if you are still 30 seats behind Amitji, you have no chance whatsoever in the next elections. GST, notebandi, sofdik, alpesh, etc will be nonissues.

Oh, and Himachal is now solidly saffron. One more step to Congress mukt bharat !

Gaw'bless.

I think Gujarat election INC defeat- Ahmed Patel must take responsibility and resign from his RS seat.

Comrades..comrades. Silence. What is the seat share of the "national parties" CPI & CPI(M) in Gujrath??

See; resigning for every thing is only applicable for Modi & BJP. Not applicable for "secular" parties.
