Exactly my man. This is a simple question to ask anyone who spouts reams of highly intelligent commentary about why Modi should not be voted in. . Their standard tactic is to talk about what Modi has not done, and as long as the conversation is about that and that alone, they are on good ground. It starts to show holes when one discusses the alternatives to Modi.
And after 4 years, they *still* cannot show one person at the first or second rung of leadership i.e. Mamata, Naidu, etc and has shown a willingness to control corruption. Congress party leaders should be the very last in that list of people who will try to control corruption. Even congress walas know it. The best thing about elections is that one leader has to be chosen. This is where their story unravels....You dont want to vote Modi for reasons a,b,c? Fine. Then who do you want to be PM in his place, and will be less corrupt? No answer. Elections are 3 months away and you still dont know who should replace Modi. That's a telling statement in itself.
I do have some sympathy for people who might say 'OK, GST killed my black money source. I am honest now ... why are the bigwigs getting away with it'. There are procedural issues with GST as well. Modi should absolutely be blamed for such things- his govt has a solemn duty to make it easy for people who want to (and now have to) comply. However, if corruption is a true concern for you, give Modi one more term to finish off what he started. If you think there is someone else who can finish what Modi could not (or, in the eyes of some, does not want to), then let me know who will be willing go after the bigger frauds, and let's elect him.
