Wow, this is simply awesome! Don't get to see these monochrome images any more.

This article had appeared on NDTV. An Indian start up is looking to develop an electric superbike with a range of 500 Km and is looking to "crowd fund" their development. The start up name is Mankame Motors.

http://mankamemotors.com

So far onlee two folks have been listed on their website.

The "technical specialist" is a recent pass out. Seems like apart from a few BE/B.Tech projects, he hasn't had any industrial experience. Even his LinkedIn profile title says "Automobile enthusiast, looking for job in automotive industry".

Even if their bike is all about system integration, it is quite a challenge. Gotta appreciate their ambition but I would say they are naive.
IT bodyshopping scam is over after 20 years so now this must be the latest scam. "Startup".
How come it is not a scam when folks in USA do it or is it ?

Would take millions of dollars in funding, a larger team and much more accomplished people than 22-24 year old 'automotive enthusiasts'.

Sure, when Liz Holmes did was a scam too with Theranos. She must have batted her eyelashes, winked at a few old fart VCs and got them to invest. But scams in US have no connection with scams in India.

Is there a law in India that mandate ALL citizens to have a cell phone? I was trying to my house taxes and find the amounts on the webpage are wrong. SO i go to grievance page and I find I HAVE to enter my mobile no. But it is prefilled with India prefix. I can not change it. I put my US no as I do not have an Indian no and it does not accept. So I put some bogus nos to file the complaint. I should think email should be sufficient.

Who are these "powerful people in the Establishment"?

As to whether this is your country, the test is simple, do you bat for it in the international forums or sabotage it every chance you get?

Apparently PC is dating Nick Jonas (he is a pop artist I think...never heard his tracks specifically) and they confirmed the same a couple of days ago. Few female RJs on Angrez radio stations in BLR were hysterical about the above...talking non-stop about it.

So showing off that sad cleavage to goras didnt work for the aging heroine anymore.
Perhaps it worked a little in grabbing Nick Jonas? BTW, the female RJs were yapping about the age difference between them and how true love conquers everything and all...who is younger between the two?

There is no age barrier where entertainers are concerned, remember madonna at one time had a fling with a guy and she was older than his grandmother, anything goes in tinsel town apparently.

My absolute favorite Bourdain line:

"Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter-faction, the vegans, are a persistent irritant to any chef worth a damn.

https://youtu.be/9xA62S-75uk

In his very first book, he had a dim view of vegetarianism, but when he tried Punjabi food, he changed his mind & wished he “hadn’t been such a dick about it”. To be opinionated is brave, but to be brave enough to change opinion is intellectually honest

Cool. Could we have these in the seemingly extinct photography thread? I am sure VJ would love to comment on these.

Here's a fabulous idea

In Indonesia, banana tree trunks are used for growing veggies. They dont need watering as this contains plenty of moisture. After harvesting, the trunk decomposes and enriches the soil.

Any progressive farmers here doing plantain cultivation must use this methodology to maximize

Crazy guy.
His name is Suresh @ Vava Suresh, and is from Kerala. Chappie is the best snake catcher in the state as of now. He began as an "amateur" snake catcher but then did good self studies to understand much more of snakes (he just has a normal level of education). Today he is the real subject matter expert when it comes to snakes in KL. You can notice his hands, there are severe "burn injury" marks. These are actually caused by the venom, when he was bitten by poisonous snakes. He himself had said that for some strange reason snake's poison on his body does not have the same effect as seen on another normal human body. Because of which he survived the pings of many poisonous snakes.
