Election Discussions - National, State etc
Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc
BJP win notwithstanding, the fact remains that according to the ECI website, the vote share for INC and BJP are pretty much identical at 37.5%. in fact, BJP is at 37.4 while Inc is at 37.5
This is worrying because it means that most of the seat gains are due to the uneven distribution of Inc votes.

Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc
Sweet justice done to CBN too. That moron tried to polarize telugu voters against BJP. Modi and Shah should hung him dry.
Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc
Even six month old All India Mahila Empowerment Party (MEP) headed by mysterious Nowhera Shaik got more votes than CPM.

Honestly at times being a CPI(M) member is more easier on life. Need to get tensed up only when the next elections happen in Kerala. Or in that case CPI is even better, need not get tensed at all . Anekal in Bangalore Rural Dt. has a CPI(M) candidate. 140 is the votes he have got.

High % of secular votes in concentrated area gives the false picture of overall % share.JohnTitor wrote: ↑Tue May 15, 2018 5:49 amBJP win notwithstanding, the fact remains that according to the ECI website, the vote share for INC and BJP are pretty much identical at 37.5%. in fact, BJP is at 37.4 while Inc is at 37.5

Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc
Trends are swinging. BJP tally dropped just now from 119 to 114. Hopefully the final ECI formalized results will put BJP at 112+ ensuring no outside support needed.
Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc
1 Independant and 1 BSP. Regarding number of votes,
1) South Karnataka is more Highly populated and here JDS and INC have been the traditional parties, so BJP is only making inroads here, so INC and JDS will have a high number of votes from these areas, INC is present even in North Karnataka. Take Devanhalli, INC and JDU race, here itself INC candidate will poll more than 1 Lakh- 1.5 Lakh votes more than the BJP candidate. So the 60 seats where the INC JDS fight is on INC would have 30-35 lac more votes, where there is BJP INC fight - INC candidates will poll less by 30-32 Lac votes, net INC might poll 2-2.5 Lakh more votes
2) Through Booth Management Mis management and locking up of Anti INC voter ID's in Bengaluru and highly populated areas have ensured a few INC victories to people like Harris.

Hmm drastic change in %Vote from 38% to bjp it switched to 38% to INC, with BJP shown down to 36.7%!

None of the channels are currently showing beyond 110 for the BJP.Mort Walker wrote: ↑Tue May 15, 2018 5:30 amBJP 120 now. OK. Good night for now, I can get some rest tonight.
turdesai is dreaming on TV about the formation of a non BJP govt with the help of the two "independents"
Lets hope that the BJP pushes ahead in the slog overs counting and surges well ahead of the 113 mark.
Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc
so far 222 seats declared
BJP 108 [48.2%
INC 73 [32.%6
JD(S) 38 [17%
Other parties 3 1[.3%
at nearly 50% vote share BJP is like a beast impossible to defeat, I am 100% sure this margin has not translated into big win cos of Guj reasons (first past the post).
BJP needs to woo some MLAs from independent & JDs it seems. It will certainly get first opportunity to form govt.

Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc
Sure it can, but the price the Congress needs to pay for this would be really huge. JD(S) can put up extremely irritating demands as it is the Congress fellows who is coming with the begging bowl. At least from what I have seen in the media, no Congress person has even mentioned about having a joint venture with JD(S). The BJP can also do a "Bihar" on this combination at the opportune time.abhijit wrote:Cong and JDS can easily pull a Goa/Manipur on BJP.
There are also two bye-elections coming up. One of them is in a seat where the sitting BJP MLA died. Chances of that seat coming back to BJP is also high.Indrad wrote:BJP needs to woo some MLAs from independent & JDs it seems. It will certainly get first opportunity to form govt.
The only way for "seculars" to fight this mammoth would be through strategic "thugbandhans". But "who would bell the cat?" is the question. Rahul Ghandi has once again shown that he by himself cannot win elections.at nearly 50% vote share BJP is like a beast impossible to defeat, I am 100% sure this margin has not translated into big win cos of Guj reasons
BTW, what is the uber secular "Kuch Bhi" Prakash Raj doing? Has the worthy opened his mouth?
Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc
The elections for two seats are being held later.
Until that is done or a clear majority of 113 seats is achieved by a single party or a combination of willing parties, the govt cannot be formed yet from the results declared today.
The congis have already offered the CM gaddi to HDK in a bid to retain KAR state.
Lets wait for all the results to come in sometime later today as the clearest picture will emerge then.
