Mamta banarjee is full on Drama. Don't know if BJP is going to win in Bengal or not but Mamta's truth is coming out in front of people. Last day I met with some Bengali people who are really die-hard fans of Mamta. They are still saying Mamta is going to win but whatever dramas she is creating they were not expecting that. Last day it was on Gotra. They are saying the first time they are seeing that didi is hopeless. She is doing accident drama and other things also. Let's see what is going to be the outcome of this.

Let me give you a small update on farmers also. Now only 10% of farmers are sitting on the Gazipur border. Rakesh tikait who seems to be a leader now becoming a problem for them. He is quite close to Delhi's political party AAP. Other farmer organizations are opposing him. They are still getting the facilities no doubt but people started moving from there. Because it is already March and now wheat crop riping will start so people are leaving for their hometown. Rakes is trying to get some media attention by giving the interview to media and another publicity stunt like Bharat band etc but no use.

Guys, those who may not have yet watched this Lutyen love fest and lament at the privileges they used to enjoy under Italian mafia, please watch this conversation between Karan Thappar and Sanjay Baru

https://youtu.be/OkUKUte2zt4

You might come away disgusted like me that these jokers who run away from their Hindu identity like a dog whose tail is on fire managed to rule and set India's narrative for 70+ years.

One of Sanjay Baru's comments was tragic. He said, during their time in power, they were a secularized and globalized and worried about things like Vietnam war and academic freedom in US. Unbelievable that colonized slaves can take pride in obsessing about somebody else's affairs. No wonder with chutiya eunuchs (and no offense meant to eunuchs) like Samjay Baru as diplomats and Thappar as TV anchors, for 70+ years US and west managed to take India for granted and brazenly do equal equal with TSP even on issues like terror.

It is this colonial mindset that Sonia's peon, MMS would run around post 9/11 claiming "No Indian Muslim is part of global Al Queda" as a badge of honor. This even as Al Qaeda's clones in Indian subcontinent: Paki sponsored LeT, Indian Mujahedeen, Jaish etc were brutalizing and terrorizing his own people with impunity. But they were not Al Queda killing whites and so thats a triumph of Indian "secularism". I have not yet had my breakfast, but just makes me throw up to even recall this.

The other fraudulent narrative that Baru and Thppar claim is that BJP want to turn India into a Hindi (and Hindu) rashtra. This part about Hindi is something BJP should watch for. In the run up to 2024, I can easily see break India forces and Lutyen mafia use this "BJP is a Hindi speaking Brahmin Bania dispensation seeking to impose its will on Dravidians in the south" as their grand narrative to halt the BJP juggernaut.

So among all the hurdles BJP still has to cross to establish its foot print across length and breadth of India, the language issue is critical and a real stumbling block. Linguistic identity is very strong, and while I admire BJP's emphasize in downplaying English, sad part is that at least for the foreseeable future, English remains the main link language across all regions of India. They need to tread very carefully on the language issue.

CRamS, Sanjay Baru belongs in a different generation. Unfortunately, he is trying to pull from his own life experience as to what you think might be going on today. He completely misses the fact with regard to social media as well as the effect of the Internet.

His generation might’ve seen confusion with regard to ignorance of attacks and communal riots all across India and glossed over it. Even the last 20 years, how many terrorist attacks as well as discrimination I will say against Hindus on large. People may talk about the psyche of victimization or even persecution. But for God sakes look at the facts, how many Hindus are dying on an everyday basis as documented all over social media. How many have died over the last half-century including the Bangladeshi genocide.
\
What Sanjay Baru, fails to address throughout this whole interview is the internetworking between Indians on a global scale. Many are not purely Modi supporters, but come to acknowledge that through education that such discrimination does exist. Many would even choose their own regional identity in India as towards part of the global Hindu identity.

It is discrimination, on a Christianized historical basis versus our own Hindu traditions. Those like Sanjay, grew up in entirely different construct that what exists today. He may seem confused but completely ignores the fact that our generation is based on that one that is research-based.
In essence I feel he completely misses the mark. Videos and articles such as these are not our really Indians as a whole. They serve as the global agenda I feel with regard to confusing Hindus as to continuing ignorance on the the suffering that their face.

The MSP scam in punjab begins again for the new procurement season

They can only do this only with the active connivance of political parties

that is why the panjab govt does not want to give land ownership records because using the records, agricultural production quantity can be traced right down to the individual farms

Day before procurement starts, trucks carrying illegal wheat from Bihar found in Bathinda

Wheat is purchased at the rate of Rs 1,100 per quintal in Bihar and other states and sold in Punjab at around Rs 1,925 per quintal as MSP

Sukhmeet Bhasin
Tribune News Service
Bathinda, April 9

The wheat procurement is set to start from April 10, but on Thursday night around two dozen trucks laden with illegal wheat reached Bathinda from other states.

BJP leader Sukhpal Sra got input about this, after which he reached Bathinda’s grain market and claimed that about 25 trucks loaded with wheat parked in Dana Mandi had come from Bihar and other states.

He alleged that wheat procured from there at cheaper rates would now be sold in Punjab as per MSP.

As per the information, wheat is purchased at the rate of Rs 1,100 per quintal in Bihar and other states and sold in Punjab at around Rs 1,925 per quintal as MSP.

Even transportation cost is around Rs 225 per quintal and in one truck around 400 quintals of wheat is transported. This means a trader is minting Rs 2 lakh per truck in this illegal business.

Inderjit Singh, a truck driver, said, “I have brought 41 tonnes (380 quintal) of wheat from Darbhanga in Bihar in my truck and I was told to leave it at a chemical factory in Bathinda but when I reached near Bathinda, I was told to reach grain market at Bathinda.”

After getting this information, the farmers under the banner of BKU Sidhupur had started a protest where wheat was lying dumped at the grain market.

The protesters shouted slogans against the state government and alleged that the government along with traders is exploiting the farmers by doing this illegal business during the procurement.

Punjab Mandi Board, DGM, Ferozepur Division, Kuldeep Singh Brar said, “Around 20 trucks laden with wheat have come here from Darbhanga in Bihar and Rajasthan. They have brought wheat at a price of Rs 1,100 and they are fleecing the government by selling it here at MSP price. We seized the wheat lying here.”

He also said three loaded trucks have been standing here while wheat from many trucks has been lying dumped here.

“We have informed the Deputy Commissioner and food supply department officials about this,” he said.

Brar also stated that they along with vigilance and police officials have conducted raids at two godowns in the grain market, where large number of unaccounted wheat has been found, which is illegal as if anyone keeps stock of wheat in its godowns, then the trader is bound to inform the Mandi board about the same but here it is found that Mandi board had no news about this, due to which entire stock has been seized.

SHO, Kotwali police station, Daljit Brar said, “We have received a complaint from market committee Bathinda, in which it was stated that one truck of M/s Babbu Ram Ashok Kumar firm, two trucks of Lakshmi oil chemicals and around 7000-8000 bags of wheat have been lying dumped in open at grain market, which have been brought from the other states so we have seized the stock and registered an FIR against both the firms.”

Even during paddy procurement last year, several traders were also booked by the Bathinda police but later no further action was taken by the police.

In the preliminary investigation, it was learnt that traders purchased paddy at lower rates in other states to sell it at a much higher price in grain markets across the state.

the standard " chit bhi meri, pat bhi meri aur sikka mere baap ka" technique used under threat of violence

Farmers protest wheat import by mill owner

Ropar, April 9

Protesting import of wheat from Uttar Pradesh by local flour mill owner, farmers blocked the Ropar-Kharar national highway here today.

They said the move would hurt those whose crop was yet to be procured by the government. The mill owner, however, avoiding confrontation, agreed to return the imported wheat and announced Rs 2.5 lakh contribution to the farmer agitation. Last night, 40 truckloads of wheat from UP arrived at a mill near Solakhian. On getting the information, farmers reached the spot and protested.

Officials from the police and district marketing office arrived at the scene and promised to look into the matter. Around 11.30 am today, farmers assembled on the Ropar-Kharar highway demanding action against the mill owner.

Farmer leader Gurmail Singh Barra said it was a conspiracy to weaken the farmers of Punjab financially. Two hours later, the police and marketing board officials effected a compromise between farmers and the mill owner, following which it was decided that the imported wheat would be returned and the mill owner would contribute towards the farmer agitation.

Delhi and Maharastra both are the states that got a good grant from the Centre government but still fail to manage Covid 19. These two states are becoming out of control. Where is the Mohlla clinic of Arvind Kejriwal, Where are the health facilities that he promised to Delhi people. He is using Delhi for his own benefit. every time he is in the problem he blames the centre because he does not have backup funds for citizens. He has already wasted those funds on free water and electricity. Now Delhi is in a big problem and suddenly he running through a weekend curfew. On the other side, we all know the condition of Maharashtra. Govt does not know how to work they are so busy saving their political leaders that they are not noticing public issues.

Really becoming very bad in these 2 states they are getting more vaccine than any other state.

I'm not really sure what 2 think with regard to ongoing recent elections during the pandemic. Unfortunately what we have seen is a massive increase in covid-19 cases over the last few months. This is really complicated by the fact that in many of the states I don't really see much of a choice. Perhaps, a lot more could have been done by social media, but unless you have feet on the ground I don't think that you are really going to change a lot of Minds. What do you guys think might be even greater Harm? The ongoing massive case increase or another five years of Mamta Banerjee.

Which virus is the worst virus that will ultimately lead to a lot more suffering and death? Mamta vs Covid.
Unfortunately this has now become another stick to beat Modi and Shah with.
I'm really also surprised regarding the Maha kumbh and the fact that it was held at all this year. What is surprising however is that even with the Maha kumbh death rates in Uttarakhand are far below rates in Delhi as well as Maharashtra.
At this stage, we can only pray that vaccination rates significantly increase to quickly cover a lot more people to stem this Surge.

Unfortunately, it has also affected a lot of the India Aware team and multiple members have been down in Delhi trying to recover from this as well. It has really hampered the team's work over the last few weeks. Hoping that everyone can bounce back.

The elections in bengal are of paramount importance to India.

It is vital that they not only be completed but also won with the mumtaz bano gang displaced and disgraced.

The security of the "chicken neck" and the NE of India has to be ensured and that will change the narrative for decades to come.

Covid is here to stay in the long term.

The ideal situation for conducting elections will never be available in the short to medium term.

we must make the best of what we have.

Every party has exactly the same playing field to do its electoral work.

The biggest problem is the deployment of central forces and not covid as is being slyly sought to be made out by the commies and the TMC, both of whom are past masters in booth capturing and ballot box stuffing.

And yet, there is no significant spike in the electioneering states and nor in the khumb mela as is being portrayed by the presstitutes.

The spikes are all in the non election states.

The prospect of a BJP win in bengal is really scaring all the opposition parties because another big opposition bastion is about to fall, one that no one in the opposition ever thought would fall.

If the BJP can do the same in assam and make some inroads in kerala and tamil nadu, even to the extent of getting a few seats each in these two states, there will be a real panic in the ranks of the opposition.

Among other things, the chances of onion merchants becoming either PM or president will evaporate instantly.

Saw @spacemomsmovie last week. Brilliant movie. Don't remember when I last watched such brilliant content & totally engaging narrative style from an Indian director! Recommend all to watch this gem.

Also angry that why I don't get to watch such content more often in theatres..

While I recounted the operating philosophy of most cultural and corporate establishments, average people--Westerners and non-Westerners--have written to let me know how much @spacemomsmovie moved them. They give me hope and keep me in the ring.

via@radhabharadwaj

When I approached film companies in India & U.S. for funding for @spacemomsmovie, I got the same feedback: don't show Indian women as winners, don't show Indian men as supportive. The Indian film biz parroted the West's loathing 100%.

Allahabad HC orders lockdown in 5 UP cities, state govt says can't do it

Emphasizing that the livelihood of the poor needs to be saved, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has refused to impose the lockdown ordered by the Allahabad High Court in five cities of the state.

The Allahabad High Court on Monday ordered a lockdown in five cities of UP till April 26, considering the prevailing Covid-19 situation. The lockdown was ordered in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur and Gorakhpur.

As per the Allahabad High Court order, the lockdown was to come into effect from Monday night and till April 26.

"Today in the order of the Hon'ble High Court, the spokesman of the UP government has conveyed that the Corona cases have increased in the state and strictness is necessary for the control of the Corona. Government has taken many steps, strict steps are being taken even further," the UP government said in a statement.

"Along with saving lives, the livelihood of the poor has to be saved. Therefore, there will not be a complete lockdown in the cities. People are automatically shutting down many places willingly," it added.

According to the Allahabad High Court order, all establishments, be it government or private, except financial institutions and financial departments, medical and health services, industrial and scientific establishments, essential services including municipal functions and public transport, were to be closed till April 26.

The order also mentioned: "During the lockdown, all shopping complexes, malls, restaurants, hotels, grocery shops and other commercial shops will also remain closed. However, medical stores will continue to operate."

As per Allahabad High Court order, the following services were to be closed during lockdown in 5 UP cities

1. All establishments, be it government or private, except financial institutions and financial departments, medical and health services, industrial and scientific establishments, essential services including municipal functions, and public transport, shall remain closed till April 26. Arvind Kejriwal is really behaving like a kid nowadays. He has given so much free water and electricity that people are dying for health services now. Last day Dy. CM Manish Sisodia visited GTB hospital, People were asking for help and he is saying to his guards to remove people from there and he leaves without entering the hospital. He is tweeting and asking for Oxygen from the center now. On the other hand, he does not want to end farmers' protests also. Farmers have blocked the road and it is taking a lot of delays to supply oxygen. see the video Kejriwal's so-called farmer protesters are doing iftaar party in lockdown.

Guys in India, hope you are all staying safe and protecting yourself. I rarely watch Karan Thappad, but made an exception because he had on an epidemiologist from UFM, Prof. Bhramar Mukherji

https://sph.umich.edu/faculty-profiles/ ... ramar.html

Here predictions based on the model she developed is really frightening. By around mid May she predicts roughly 5000 deaths/day and 15 odd lakhs infections. Man, if true, this will be tragic. I have no way to counter this except to say that even during first wave, all kinds of bogus predictions were made, and when that didn't pan put, other racist bogus explanations were offered.

But Prof. Mukherji appeared sincere and objective in her analysis, and when I looked at her credentials, she seems highly regarded. Thappad as usual was trying his best to get her to attack ModiJi and he himself kept alluding the govt didn't do this or that. And of course there was an orgy of mockery when some in Indian govt claimed we have defeated Covid.

That said, in hindsight, it seems to me that more than anything ModiJi did or did not do, I think its the complacency and nonchalant attitude of people that is responsible for this horrific spike. I noticed that Prof. Mukherji talks about election rallies, cricket matches, Kumbh Mela; but she never once mentioned Farmer protests. So there goes some objectivity in her analysis.

CRamS,

Not sure if traveling, but if in India, please keep safe. Constantly hearing of multiple family members friends who have caught Covid and recovering including elderly.

The numbers themselves have caught everyone by surprise...western media will always quickly run to the Kumbh as the cause but what I find puzzling is that how much fewer cases you find in Uttarakhand vs Maharashtra. Or can it be a huge migrant population, heading back home...not quite sure regarding this...

I'm glad to hear of the U turn by Biden however. Can it be because of Indian pressure exerted that had to bend? Would like to think so.
A few European heads of state I believe such as Merkel has reported to say that the world has "allowed" India to build up its pharmaceutical industry...now there is gall...or is it bile...

Some of the stats seem to show that the recovery rate continues to grow...I believe over 100 million have been vaccinated so far...other good news is also the Oxygen train and multiple oxygenation creation sites are ongoing on a war footing...

We are all part I feel in showing the quick response to the disinformation campaign in India...ImageImageImage

Covid: Missing facts, misdirected discourse

Covid: Missing facts, misdirected discourse

The current stentorian discourse sans facts, which shifts the blame on to the government for the supply chain failures of hospitals, misses a more critical fact.

27th April 2021
S Gurumurthy

"One-fifth of Indian districts have not reported any Covid-19 cases for the last seven days. We seem to have flattened the Covid curve,” declared Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan two months back, on February 15. By then the daily infections that had peaked to 90,000 cases last year, were down to less than 9,000. But things changed dramatically into an unprecedented disaster in April (see table). The grim situation called for a huge national resolve to deal with the crisis. But the unfortunate deaths caused by the shortage of oxygen in Delhi made the ecosystem so emotionally surcharged that all facts and reasoning became irrelevant. The missing facts misdirected the public discourse, distorted the narrative on Covid and damaged the national will to face the challenge. Look at what crucial facts were missed.

Profiteers’ complaint

The oxygen shortage-induced deaths first occurred in Delhi’s corporate hospitals. These hospitals made huge profits, even more last year, thanks to the pandemic. That provoked the National Herald site to write an article titled Profit in times of COVID-19: Is it time to take over private hospitals? (20.6.2020). The report said “Rs 25,090, Rs 53,090, Rs 75,590, Rs 5,00,000, Rs 6,00,000, Rs 12,00,000 — these are not random numbers. These are the per day costs and cumulative two-week costs for a bed in private hospitals in Delhi if one gets Coronavirus.” Adding the cost of the personal protection equipment (PPE), tests and medicines, the bill equalled Indians’ annual income, it said. Home treatment fee was no less; it varied from Rs 5,700 to Rs 21,900 a day plus cost of tests. The Herald report cited a writ against this loot in the Supreme Court.

Alarmed by the writ, the Association of Healthcare Providers (AHPs) and FICCI members agreed to self-regulate. What were the self-regulated fees? AHP’s daily fee for general wards was Rs 15,000 plus Rs 5,000 for oxygen; for ICU Rs 25,000 plus Rs 10,000 for ventilators. The FICCI’s rates were even higher -- Rs 17,000 to Rs 45,000 per day. And more. Hospitals bought PPEs at Rs 375-500 apiece and sold them to patients at 10-12 times more. Chennai and Mumbai were no exceptions, said the Herald.

It is these hospitals that now filed writs under the constitutional right to life, for oxygen supply by governments — for which they charge the patients Rs 5,000 per day! Anyone heard of these horrendous facts of the loot in the uproarious debate on oxygen shortage causing deaths? This is important because the profiteering hospitals could have set up their own oxygen plants at minuscule cost. Read on.

O2 privatised, unregulated

The production, trade, stocking and use of oxygen is privatised. The trade in medical oxygen is not controlled or regulated in India — though its prices are controlled by the National Pharma Pricing Authority (NPPA) — an autonomous body under the chemicals and fertilisers ministry. Producers enter into private contracts with industries, hospitals and also governments to supply oxygen. Hospitals plan how much oxygen is needed for an emergency, estimate the lead time for delivery and order accordingly. Their supply chains were long both in distance and time, particularly for Delhi hospitals, which are thousands of kilometers away from their production sources spread across several states. Supplies have to be trucked in from industrial zones in eastern India. This needed meticulous advance planning to ensure timely deliveries even during normalcy. But hospitals did not plan stocks for contingent needs and saved on costs. Did anyone hear any of these facts in the noise of the last 10 days?

No shortage

Second, there is no shortage of oxygen. We produce 1,00,000 tonnes a day, with one company in Gujarat alone producing a fifth of it. Of the total produced, only a minuscule part, some 1%, is medical oxygen. Even in the Covid crisis, it may not top 5-6%. The production of oxygen, mostly captively used, is concentrated in far-off areas. Oxygen in liquid form is traded and transported through heavy, safe tankers, each of which costs Rs 45 lakh. Worse still, oxygen worth Rs 300 is stored in a cylinder that costs Rs 10,000! The distant production and multiple trade chains in oxygen, transport in tankers and stocking in cylinders created huge logistic issues even in normal times. In times of pandemic, this supply chain wouldn’t withstand stress, particularly when Delhi, where the deaths occurred, is several hundred kms away from where the oxygen has to be transported.

Profiteers failed, but shifted the blame

After the Covid first wave last year, each (Delhi) hospital should have set up their on-the-spot oxygen producing unit. A report by The Print says that a 240-bed hospital with 40 ICU beds uses oxygen worth about Rs 5 lakh per month in normal times. It costs some Rs 50 lakh to set up a Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plant, which they could recover within 18 months. Every Delhi hospital could afford it. But none was ready to allocate the precious space to house an oxygen plant. They opted to buy oxygen from a thousand kilometres away instead and not make it in their backyard. The supply chain risks of oxygen were brought out last year by Cherish Paul, John Paul and Akhil Babu of the Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care, Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute, Thrissur, Kerala. In an article in the Indian Journal of Respiratory Care titled “Hospital oxygen supply: A survey of disaster preparedness of Indian hospitals,” the three experts concluded that most of the hospitals rely on a single pipeline from a single location, inviting mishaps during disasters. They recommended multiple sources of oxygen depending on the size and the hospital’s proximity to a liquid oxygen plant.

Apply this caution to the Delhi hospitals. They could themselves produce oxygen but did not. They never planned for an uninterrupted supply of oxygen during a disaster. When their supply lines for oxygen on which they profiteer failed, they cited the constitutional right to life and asked the court to direct governments to give oxygen! The off-hand and emotional response of the court actually helped to shift the blame on to governments. That changed the very discourse and narrative on Covid. Did the public have any hint of these critical facts in the last few days?

Hospitals thwarted 129 on-spot oxygen plants

The current stentorian discourse sans facts, which shifts the blame on to the government for the supply chain failures of hospitals, misses a more critical fact. Anticipating a contingency like this, the Modi government had ordered 162 PSA plants at a cost of over Rs 200 crore in October last for government hospitals all over India. This could have produced 80,500 litres of medical oxygen per minute. This translates approximately to one ton of liquid oxygen per day per plant. But out of plants ordered for 162 hospitals, only 33 got installed. Why? Even state government hospitals thwarted the Centre’s plan for on-the-spot oxygen production facilities. The Print says, orders were placed in December but when vendors reached the hospitals for installation, many “faced resistance” from them, pretending “no space” — the real reason being vested interest to procure oxygen rather than generating the entire requirement onsite. This showed how advance planning for on-the-spot oxygen supply by the Centre was thwarted by even the state-run hospitals. In the contemporary shouting and counter shouting in the media and social media, has anyone heard about this farsighted move of the government, beyond the feeble voice of The Print?

New Covid Tsunami isn’t a return of the old

An even more critical fact that is absent in the discourse on oxygen deficit, is that the present Covid Tsunami is not the return of the old, but a totally unanticipated new one massifying like hell. The Covid curve, which began rising from March first week, gathered pace through March, rose fast in the first two weeks of April and became a Tsunami later. In just seven weeks, Bihar saw a rise of daily new cases by 522 times, UP by 399 times, Andhra by 186 times, Delhi and Jharkhand by 150 times, West Bengal by 142 times and Rajasthan by 123 times — disaster of a size, a Tsunami, beyond anyone’s anticipation. This is not the repeat of Covid 1.0 last year. It is a new, double mutant Indian variety that got generated in each place where Covid 1.0 had gone before. No expert could anticipate this. This was bound to flood hospitals and ICUs throwing all plans awry.

Need national will

This unprecedented Tsunami called for shared responsibility and collective will to face it and not to miss the facts or misdirect the discourse and shift the blame. That even in the face of a national disaster like Covid we showed the lack of collective will is a matter of concern. How the opposition parties branded the vaccine, Covaxin, approved by the government for emergency use exposed this national deficit. Congress leaders Randeep Singh Surjewala, Shashi Tharoor, Manish Tewari and Jairam Ramesh shouted in chorus against Covaxin. Anand Sharma said it was dangerous. Except Rajasthan, opposition-ruled Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, West Bengal and Jharkhand created doubts in people’s mind about vaccines. Result, the people hesitated for the jab. In January only 33% beneficiaries were willing for the shot, 40% preferred to wait and 16% said ‘No’. In March, those willing rose to 57%, those who preferred to wait halved and naysayers reduced to 6%. Three precious months were lost.

Against an average daily vaccination of 30 lakh, making it 9 crore a month, only 10.8 crore had first jabs, and 1.6 crore had double jabs till March, which could have been double that number had vaccine hesitancy not crept in. Also, as a nation we let down our guard. As the Google mobility data shows, despite Covid continuing we began leading a near normal life — 78% in entertainment, 87% in parks and public places, 92% in transportation, and 120% in shopping as compared to the pre-lockdown period. And mostly without social distancing and without wearing masks. Now we have a huge challenge — to face up to which we need collective national will. Are we capable of it?

Guys,

You may have noticed that everyone among the break India gangs: from western racists dog media to Indian sepoys like wore, print, etc are having field day with an orgy of hate piled against us Hindus. And poor ModiJi, he is human, the hate and vitriol directed against him is unprecedented. So what does all this mean?

With all the orgy of negativity, there is bound to be short term political consequences. Fortunately, most of Bengal voting is over except for last phase. And if BJP does badly in Bengal, it certainly won't be because of this 2nd Covid wave striking so mercilessly. I won't be surprised if in a month or so, when media does opinion polling and ModiJi/BJP approval ratings dip.

But this reminds me of a Hindi move dialogue. Khel tumne shuru kiya, Khatam mein karoonga. You started the game, I will end it :-).

So what is more important is ModiJi & Co keep a cool head and do what it takes to navigate the ship out of this crisis. Because next major election, UP 2022 is about a year away, and there is ample time to pick up the threads. I am sure ModiJi in his heart of hearts knows we could have been better prepared, but no amount of preparation could have saved us from this monster. Important to show people he cares and is doing the right thing.

Subtle diplomatic usage is worth more than a thousand commentaries.

Note Putin is referred to as friend & Biden is not.

note the difference in the two messages and by implication the diplomatic signalling

no one needs to teach Modi the niceties of international diplomacy

Joshi: “It’s best to state this simply: Narendra Modi needs to go. Amit Shah needs to go. Ajay Mohan Bisht aka Yogi Adityanath needs to go. The bunch of integrity-free incompetents Mr Modi has gathered around him as his ministers all need to go.”

Renowned journalist Shri Rohit Sardana was a former ABVP karyakarta

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) ( transl. All Indian Student Council) is a right-wing all India student organisation affiliated to the Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)

and, that, boys and girls, is the major khujli for India's rejected and abandoned muslims, whom jinnah did not want, did not take or even welcome into pukilund because he saw them as a burden. they are the ones abusing Rohit Sardana today, despite the fact that every muslim "journalist" and his/her halal reportage is always anti Hindu and sharia compliant

their target, as ever, remains the RSS

Guys, very disappointed to see the humiliating loss BJP suffered. But that is nothing compared to the Covid beating India is taking and all the break-India forces feasting on an orgy of ModiJi bashing as if, if he were not there, somehow Covid will magically disappear.

On the Bengal loss, everybody has their own gyan, but my sense is that ModiJi charm fetches returns in local state elections only up to a certain point. I think strong local faces are needed from the rank and file of the local BJP cadres and leadership to be the face of the party in state elections. Or else, BJP will be successfully cast as 'North Indian outsiders'. My own sense is that Mumtaz Begum & co successfully portrayed ModiJi/Shah as 'others' to vast Bengali populace.

I concur with the view that loss of WB is not some Armageddon for BJP. In fact, I see it as a blessing in disguise and a wake up call. ModiJi now needs to relentlessly focus on fighting Covid. His enemies will do everything to thwart his efforts and then blame him for the tragedies that will ensue, but ModJi has to win despite that, not fail because of that.

If the Covid battle can be won decisively over next 4-5 months, and ModiJi and BJP govt are seen as leading that fight, this current loss of political capital as a result of Covid surge and WB loss will evaporate.

BTW, guys, those of us in US, lets do what we can to help. We can donate to PM cares fund, or through local Chinmaya mission, or Ekal Vidyalaya etc. As Rajiv Malhotra said, what is needed is Karma not Pappu style drama. BTW, please see his tweet on sending oxygen concentrators. Anybody knows what are some good concentrators to buy and mode to ship them. Any organization involved in this effort?
