KP Oli it seems has been a break in his tradition by visiting the Pashupatinath Temple today. As a communist he would believe the Marxist dictum that religion is opium for the masses.

However, it goes to show that he may be testing the waters with regard to the rising pro Hindu forces all across Nepal. Tired of the corrupt communist parties along with the Nepali Congress which has been dominating politics since inception, he held the puja today at the temple. Nepalis also making a comparison that KP Oli is simply aping what Modi has done much earlier.

It really is on optics. As above I have commented that India may work with the Pro Madhesi parties to arrest back some control in Nepal. It could also support the Rashtriya Prajatanta Party which is another pro Hindu as well as monarchist party.

Backing a Pro Hindu party with links to the BJP might prove in the long run a better option along with the Madhesi Parties then supporting the communist or Nepali Congress.

After KP Oli’s eviction, Nepalis become increasingly agitated with their never-ending political crisis.

By Vikram Hakura.

https://www.india-aware.com/latest/afte ... al-crisis/
stipulated time, it is now led to another split in the majority Communist Party and an early call to elections. I can’t imagine another frustrating call for Nepalis in leading to the polls for the fifth time in just over a decade. Add to these even more confusing reports of KP Oli being honey-trapped by the Chinese Foreign Minister.

It is no wonder, that even with substantial Indian endowments and funding over the last few years, that KP Oli would start to make brazen statements concerning claiming Indian territory. This is all in view while the Chinese have been occupying villages in the northern area of Nepal. Not only that, he even tried to elicit some religious controversy upon claiming that the avatar Ram was not born in India but really in Nepal.

Nepalis may well consider a more aggressive and effective source of government with its much larger neighbor to the south. China unfortunately continues to grab various territories all across the Asia-Pacific region for its own benefit.

As a union territory of India, they would continue to receive massive funds and also be exposed to all of the ongoing opportunities all across India including its pharmaceutical and space industries.
Perhaps it is time that Nepalis start to consider the growth and future of the nation not lies with their politicians but in new dynamic leaders that adhere to their principles of equality and growth for all.

Perhaps it is time for Nepalis to start considering dynamic leaders from across the Indian border.

Only wish it were true...perhaps?

‘Objection conveyed’ — Kathmandu on Biplab Deb’s remark that ‘BJP will form govt in Nepal’

https://theprint.in/diplomacy/objection ... al/606386/
Deb was quoted in media reports as saying that the BJP was planning to extend its footprint in Sri Lanka and Nepal. On Saturday, Deb said Shah, when serving as BJP president, had told party leaders that the BJP would establish rule in other regional countries as part of ‘Atmanirbhar South Asia’ initiative.

Deb said the BJP deeply valued the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) partnership. Nepal is a member of SAARC.

Major blow to PM Oli, Nepal SC reinstates dissolved House of Representatives

https://www.india-aware.com/latest/majo ... entatives/
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court of Nepal restored the disbanded House of Representatives in a big setback against Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli, who was preparing for snap elections in the middle of a conflict of power with his rivals in the opposition Communist Party.

A historic verdict, a five-member constitutional bench headed by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher reversed the “unconstitutional” decision of the Oli Government to dissolve the 275-member lower house of Parliament.

Couple of points that out like to highlight. First of all, the website telegraph Nepal seems to be entirely Chinese run website, creating a constant fear that their politicians are constantly selling out to India on a daily basis. Unfortunately, it seems that this kind of propaganda has really had some effect with regard to spreading this kind of fear among Nepalis. Thankfully, the website is mainly an English and that to quite poor so not really sure regarding the reach that it has among your aim admi Nepali for one.

Still, it serves to highlight their propaganda war. Something that India I think should try to match in some fashion.

On another note, PM Oli has taken the Covishield vaccine. India’s really succeeded with its vaccine diplomacy. Time to highlight on this fact especially with regard to the failure of the Sinopharm vaccine. Nepal among other countries have categorically rejected the Chinese vaccine.

We have made amazing strides with regard to ramping of manufacture of both Covishield and Covaxin. We should capitalize on this fact of providing free vaccines yet again to all of Nepal in a timely fashion.

A fairly important happening in Nepal recently. Looks like province number two finally got registered as Madhesh Province. Capital of this province is Janakpur, which of course is going to hold major communication links with India including rail links as well.
Madhesh province of course borders Bihar and the cultural affinities to India are deep. One would say that this would also extend to political affinities as well.

It is the second most populous state after Bagmati province holding Kathmandu. The to the difference really is only about 100,000 people, 5.5 million versus 5.4 million for Madhesh.

I can really see a lot more political affinities happening between parties on both sides of the border.
Unfortunately, it seems that on the Nepali side, after buying two locomotives they has been no real headway with regard strengthening and revamping the Nepal railway ministry. That coupled with the uncertainty over Nepali politics has only made this rail link even more delayed.

Once the rain link opens up between Jayanagar and Janakpur, we would see a lot more interaction on the ground between both countries. This would, if carefully managed can only lead to greater political clout for India. More pressure needed from the India side to realize this.
