Yes. There is time to correct the mathematics. Question is, if the problem is not just simple vote math and there is discontent then is there enough time left for course correction?

UP is a monumental mess and Yogi is god sent gift. If he cleans up the mess and bring peace and prosperity then no one can challenge him in 2024.
Yogi is bringing noticeable change for sure. I speak of my parents experience in Mathura. First time they have 24 hour power supply and daily door collection of Garbage. Previously all garbage was burned once a week near our house.
We need more such nuggets from the ground on BGR. Please do share more.
I am visiting my parents in Mathura. There are LED street lights in every nook and corner of the city. All major crossing have high-mast lighting installed. City is cleaner for sure and roads are in much better shape. Talked to local kirana store, he has no issues with GST and very happy with 24 hours power supply as he doesn't have to pay for private generator connection. Another friend who had a very successful Inverters and battery business is not happy as his sales are down.

No surprise. The BIF came out and voted. The pro Hindu people stayed at home. Demonetization and GST, although both being good for country in the long term for extending the tax base, does have an impact on prices and those who’ve avoided taxes. They won’t be against the BJP, but remain ambivalent and simply lose motivation to vote.

In 2019 I see a repeat of 1996. The INC won’t get the votes, but will pull strings behind an unruly coalition which will fall apart by late 2020. Caretaker government until general elections again by April 2021.

Why should one expect people to come out to vote again and again? Yes, should've, but that's quite a huge expectation that people come out and vote for every single election. They simply will not. Let's not demonize people, and I see a few RW folks on twitter are making it worse by calling Hindu community as 'chu**ya" and that they actually deserve Mullah Mulayam's rule. LS2014, UP state elections, ByPolls, LS2019. I mean that's a tall order and its unreasonable to vote at large voter turnouts. It happens only when there is an existential crisis looming ahead.

We accept the verdict of the people, this result is unexpected, we will review the shortcomings. I congratulate the winning candidates: UP CM Yogi Adityanath
A leader takes responsibility for failures. Nice.

Hope the caste equations are done better. The same mistake that Rajnath sarkar had made - allow a perception to grow that the govt is favoring upper castes at the expense of OBCs and SCs - must not be repeated. BJP never quite recovered for years after Kalyan Singh. For good reason. BJP has to wrap itself in the garb of a non-Yadav OBC and non-Jatav Dalit party. Period. Only.

How Yogi Adityanath’s Hindu Yuva Vahini Stands Scattered And Weakened (Swarajya)

The HYV showed what organized saffron could do outside the RSS org. How could it have been allowed to wither within a year of The_Yogi's ascension?! HYV is actually a good template for replication elsewhere, say I.

Anyway. Sigh. Only.

One good thing about the current alignment of people gravitating towards BIF now is that it will unite the PIF more and stop the infighting to prevent the redux of 2004 India shining. Hear that Modis Vibareetha Raja Yog on his horoscope makes him a winner in adversity. More the better.

A good friend of mine is an 'astrologer' by passion. He has always claimed Modi has a destiny to fulfill and will be a world leader of renown. However, there is a possibility of an 'untimely demise' - if you know what I mean. I do hope the latter is false.

On a personal note, I do not believe in any of this. Having said that, Modi Ji has shown that he is indeed a survivor and thrives in adversity. Nobody in Indian politics has had to face so much opposition and vitriol in his life and yet he has not only come out unscathed but risen even higher.

May the Gods protect him!

Actually if you look at it, the frontline Hindu organizations who are really giving it back to Muslims are outside RSS org structure - Hindu Samhiti in WB and HYV in UP. It is true that RSS wants these 'parallel' structures either weakened or completely collapsed to prevent having to give away any leverage to anyone. Short sighted idiocy.

Wuz in Lucknow last week. Metro work is proceeding rapidly and in a well-organized manner. Streets are looking cleaner, trash heaps noticeably less, seeing much more municipal cleaning activity. In Gomti Nagar and Indira Nagar - two of Asia's largest townships/"colonies" - large swathes of squatter settlements have been razed.

Massive malsi mob 'rioting' in WB (Raniganj town of Asansol) on Ram Navami procession. 100s of houses burnt, 2 temples destroyed.

Where was the Police? Well, malsi bums took out a DSP's right hand and yet the khakis could do nothing.

https://twitter.com/kavita_tewari/statu ... 0425513985 - has some pics etc.

Moi thinking, that The_Yogi style free hand to law and order to clean up gangsterism, mafiosi, gangs etc is needed. And can be bottled and sold in a WB campaign by an astute BJP.

Heck, while most BJP leaders are unwelcome at Hindu Samhati events, The_Yogi may be a rare exception (along side outliers like Raja Singh in Hyd, etc). Only.

True, true only.

P.S.
BTW, the efficiency and sheer effectiveness with which the 1-sided Raniganj riots in WB have been buried in lamestream media points to the heavy hand of a psec deep-state. What else explains zero coverage even on 'friendly' outlets like zee or indiaTV or Republic? Just curious only.

Hope the_Yogi campaigns heavily in WB in 2019 and beyond. Only.

In UP, SP-BSP hopes to build on changing caste equations after BJP’s resurgence (HT)

Unmistake-able psec slant discernable. Its HT after all.

P.S. Note on how much play the caste-divide angle gets throughout this screed. The BIF agenda, honed by the likes of cambridge anal_tica, at play, clearly.
A general curiosity prevailed the day seers purified the chief minister’s bungalow in Lucknow with mantras and Ganga jal for its new incumbent Mahant Yogi Adityanath.

But in the countryside, a section of Dalits were enraged by this first-of-its-kind “grih pravesh” ceremony at the official home of a chief minister, vacated by Akhilesh Yadav, a backward. They raised the issue on social media and at meetings, empathising with “pichhda Akhilesh”.

Soon, they started feeling discriminated and deprived in the new dispensation. Their share in power lessened. “We would have taken to the streets had the house been vacated by Behenji (Mayawati). The Yadavs did not protest but the issue went viral on social media. It reduced the anger against Akhilesh Yadav, triggering a discussion on the need to reconsolidate the ‘bahujan samaj’. After all he is an OBC and there is little difference in the social status of a Dalit and a poor Yadav,” Dalit activist Dr Satish Prakash says.

The chief minister remained oblivious to the reaction that his “routine ritual” evoked in the community the BJP was trying to woo. “The demand for unity grew after encounters (some Yadavs) and cases of atrocities on Dalits increased,” says Satya Prakash Teetal, another Dalit activist.

He says the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leadership responded to the growing sentiments by putting up a unity show in March bypolls to two Lok Sabha seats. It’s the same BSP that fought the 2017 UP assembly polls to defeat the SP, an arch-rival of 20 years.

Prakash says: “Don’t we have differences in our families? But don’t we unite whenever we face a crisis. It is a question of dignity and survival in a society in which our caste has become our names.”

According to a BSP leader, Mayawati has shown her power in the BJP’s bypoll defeat and it’s time for the SP and other parties to show their respective strengths. “Her ability to transfer votes is unquestionable. Can Akhilesh transfer SP votes?” he asks.

It was in 1993 when the catchphrase of a SP-BSP alliance “Mile Mulayam Kanshi Ram, hawa mein ud gaya Jai Shri Ram” drowned the “Jai Shri Ram” slogan. A “bahujan samaj” government was formed.
Read it all. The wet dream of a SP-BSP alliance is gaining steam. Let the BJP not say it wasn't forewarned.

The urban population did not turn up because they were confused. The last five LS elections in which YA won easily was because of the connection between the candidate and the goraknath mutt.

The candidates proposed by YA were not accepted and some candidates not connected with the goraknath mutt were thrust into the fray. In that specific region, the goraknath mutt, has since decades, played the dominating role in the political as well as the social milieu.

This is what YA meant when he cryptically said, post the election loss, that "we were overconfident".

It looks like the BJP prefers low key, mindlessly obedient, slavish and docile CMs. More is the pity because both AS and NM did not grow out of such a debilitating and mind throttling worldview.

One would have thought that after the glaring and malicious examples in the congi camp, at least this vital lesson of nurturing, grooming and developing intelligent, hardworking and initiative taking second rung leaders would have sunk in.

If, just saying onlee, if, YA were to shift camp today, the entire 2019 campaign would run aground and even modi would not be able to salvage it. YA is a mass leader, articulate, savvy and shrewd and he is single handedly more than capable of a galvanizing electoral campaign, especially, now with the long suppressed Hindus in their current aggressive mood. He has also understood and captured the national mood as well as the aspirations very well, in fact far better than NM has.

His scandal free, incorruptible persona, his long standing yogi avatar, his honest saffron dress and outspoken demeanor, his unabashed Hindu stand on all matters, his telegenic presence and articulate expression of his beliefs and above all his strong sense of purpose makes for a power packed and weaponized political ally, a man whose capabilities should not be taken for granted or dismissed as a mere flash in the pan.

The jaichand mentality is still alive and well, as is the concept and national pass time of cutting your nose to spite your face.

Uttar Pradesh aims to tap CSR funds for 100-metre Ram Statue in Ayodhya (ET)

The_Yogi, again, in his inimitable style, turns around the CSR posion-pill the UPA2 hatched against Indic society and wields it in service of Indic causes. Behold.
NEW DELHI: The Yogi Adityanath government plans to attract corporate funds to build a 100-metre tall statue of Lord Ram on the banks of Saryu in Ayodhya to bring about ‘social development.’

It has opened up 86 tourism projects worth Rs 2,725 crore in 10 towns, including Varanasi and Gorakhpur, to companies that may want to spend their mandatory 2% of net profit under CSR on them.

Two big-ticket projects of the 86 on offer are in Ayodhya — a 100-meter high Lord Ram statue at a cost of Rs 330 crore and development of a ‘Navyu Ayodhya’ (New Ayodhya) on the banks of the Saryu at Rs 350 crore, complete with a 7D Ramlila, Ramkatha gallery, light and sound show on Ramlila and musical fountains.

The projects were announced by the CM last year and soon after former CM Akhilesh Yadav announced a 50-metre tall statue of Lord Krishna in Saifai. The UP government has come out with a 26-page booklet it has prepared with knowledge partner EY, listing projects eligible for investment under CSR.
Raama and Krishna statues, pilgrim cities and temple redevelopments - all under CSR?! Whoa! Check out the other sooper items available on the CSRE buffet:

Image

Now if that above ain't a template for other BJP CMs, wonder what is... OK, throw in an occasional mainority item here and there for balance, maybe...
“We are still to publicise this... but it is part of our new policy,” UP Principal Secretary (Tourism) Awanish Kumar Awasthi told ET. Four such projects in Ayodhya have the biggest budget at Rs 755 crore. “Ayodhya holds a place of pride among devotees of Lord Ram… Ayodhya has a large potential to become an international tourist destination,” according to the booklet. The projects on offer include development of the Gorakhpur Temple campus worth Rs 45 crore.
Nice. And shall keenly watch how this goes. Meanwhile, yogi ji brushes aside any asinine notion of a 'conflict of interest' by bringing in development of the Gorakshanath matth also into the CSR ambiot. When mainorities have so blatantly gamed the gains system, why shouldn't we, hain ji?
Adityanath is still the head priest of the Gorakhnath Temple. Other proposals are a Rs 75 crore ropeway project above the Sangam in Allahabad where the Kumbh will be organised in 2019, a Rs 200 crore redevelopment of the Parikarma route around Mathura’s Goverdhan Hill, which Lord Krishna is said to have lifted, and revitalisation of the Panchkoshi Parikarma route in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency, for Rs 100 crore.
Projects including street rejuvenation in Varanasi and Ayodhya, illumination of main monuments in these towns and a light and sound show at Varanasi’s Assi Ghat are on offer, too.

In the booklet, Awasthi writes that supporting tourism projects helps to generate local employment and ensures inclusive growth.

“Partnering with businesses and combining complimentary resources and strengths can be instrumental for government to bring about social development. It encourages private sector companies, on a voluntary basis, to form partnerships with government to facilitate projects focussing on social development and raise the Human Development Index of the state,” Awanish Kumar Awasthi has written.
Wonderful. Lage raho yogi ji, hum aapke saath hain.

Also at 9pm:the Yogi government wants to spend 330 crores on a statue of Ram in Ayodhya. What about spending that money on the Gorakhpur children’s hospital where 30 kids died for lack of oxygen last year? Or use that money to build more hospitals? Are these misplaced priorities?

Why was it that in almost 70yrs, without spending money on Ram statue, the hospitals were never state of the art in UP?

Yogi Adityanath’s crackdown on private schools: New bill to bring big relief to parents approved (FinExp)
In the Cabinet meeting, it was decided to clamp down on arbitrary fees collection of private schools. Also, no school will be able to make changes in children’s uniform for five years.
Sadly, all any pvt school has to do is get its owners/mgmt to convert to a mainoroty faith and the school then becomes a mainority institution immune from state 'interference'. Immune from the law, almost. Blatant trampling of religious FoE (like wearing bindi or mehendi by Hindu schoolgirls) in xtian schools is the effing norm, from what I read.

Will take Yogi to take on the convents and all. Sure they'll howl, go to court and eventually win, but in the meantime, enough awareness and such will be built around this core issue. Or so I hope.

Onlee.
