Yogi Adityanath’s crackdown on private schools: New bill to bring big relief to parents approved (FinExp)
In the Cabinet meeting, it was decided to clamp down on arbitrary fees collection of private schools. Also, no school will be able to make changes in children’s uniform for five years.
Sadly, all any pvt school has to do is get its owners/mgmt to convert to a mainoroty faith and the school then becomes a mainority institution immune from state 'interference'. Immune from the law, almost. Blatant trampling of religious FoE (like wearing bindi or mehendi by Hindu schoolgirls) in xtian schools is the effing norm, from what I read.

Will take Yogi to take on the convents and all. Sure they'll howl, go to court and eventually win, but in the meantime, enough awareness and such will be built around this core issue. Or so I hope.

Onlee.
I think all schools are included in this bill, even the mainority ones.

I'm willing to bet it'll be contested in the courts and their honours will exempt minorities from everything. Then this will be a Hindu specific law, like RTE has become.

Yogi can then off course raise the "Hindu khatre mein hein.." argument. Better still it should be the SP-BSP or INC "seculars" who should raise up this issue, hoping to hit Yogi ;) . In case of RTE, it was that the governments of that day just did not bother to protest. Yogi may be more willing here to raise up this issue.

But these are the one that follow UP board. The missionary ones do not follow UP board or even CBSE, they do ICSE. ICSE should be scrapped, it is sub par and smacks of favoritism.

^ +1. ICSE should be scrapped, pronto. Period. Let 'em mainority pressure lobbies howl and bawl. Having cried wolf at every drop of a hat (church attacks, anyone?), let 'em have a far-reaching issue to grapple with up their nose, for a change.

Meanwhile, proud to say as an Andhraite, AP shows the way in how to tackle the missionary menace. Would be nice to template-ize it and adopt it with local customization in villages across the BJP-verse, starting with UP. Sangh parivar orgs leading the grassroots demand for the same of course.

Ground report: A 'Hindus only' Andhra village with saffron flags and caution boards (TNM)
Kesalingayapalli has become a 'model village' for neighbouring villages, where saffron flags are being hoisted to mark the religious beliefs of the residents.
Image

Boy-o-boy, I'm beside moiself with joy onlee at this news. Read it all.
The road that leads to the sleepy village of Kesalingayapalli in Mydukur mandal, located 35 kms from Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh, has been making front page news. The saffron flags planted on either side of the road loudly proclaim the religious beliefs of the residents to any visitor entering the village.

Around 250 families live in Kesalingayapalli and they have declared their village to be 'Hindu only’. Not just that, they have also explicitly warned people of other faiths, particularly the Christian evangelists, from entering their village and propagating their faith.

The residents have erected saffron-coloured ‘caution’ boards on either side of the village, aimed at deterring the evangelicals from entering their space.

The board reads: “In this village, everyone is a Hindu, hence people of other religions cannot propagate their religion here. If someone violates this warning, stern action will be taken against them—By: People of Kesalingayapalli.” The caption below reads: “If you convert to a different religion, it is akin to changing your own mother.” {Amen!}

Though this board was erected two years ago, in 2016, during the Hindu festival of Ram Navami, it is only now that people outside the village have taken notice.

Not just the saffron 'caution' board, houses and tea-shops, too, have erected saffron flags with 'Om' written on them, in a bid to make the atmosphere even more hostile to people of other faiths. :rotfl:

As I proceed towards the village and state my purpose of visit, Venkata Ramana, a staunch Ram devotee, asks me to hop on to his two-wheeler. He says, “Let me call the villagers.”

He takes me to Ramalayam (Lord Ram temple), which is about 20 meters away from the village. He then announces in the microphone, “Jai Sri Ram! A journalist has come to our village, hence I request everyone to gather in the temple.”

Within a few minutes, many residents, all of them men and all of them staunch devotees of Ram, gather. They know the drill. They want to be photographed, and are more than willing to speak. The recent attention from the media has prepared them for what is to follow.

The ‘menace’ of Christianity

Venkata Ramana, who is the brain behind the 'caution' board, says, “Over the past few years, the Christians have entered our village and lured our people with money and medicine. We (Hindus) never did that. They were brainwashing our people and taking them into their fold. To stop the menace, we confronted them a couple of times and shooed them away. But as they continued to come, we decided to erect a warning board.”

He adds, “Once, despite the board being erected, they came to the village. Then our youth and villagers did dehashudhi (physical attack) to them.”

Mallikarjuna, a youth, joins in the conversation and adds, “They fool our people with some stupid oil. For even serious ailments, they give some oil. It is ridiculous. Their sole aim is conversion by offering unscientific treatment.”

According to the residents, the evangelists offer medical help and take the sick to Gooty, a mandal in Anantpur district, which is approximately 160 kms from their village. This is where, they allege, the Christians "brainwash" the Hindus and slowly convert them.

The residents also claim that they allow people of other faiths to visit their village, but that they cannot allow them to propagate their faith. However, after declaring themselves to be a 'Hindus only' village, people of other faiths are wary about entering Kesalingayapalli.

According to KV Prasad, a farmer, three families belonging to the Scheduled Tribes community, were "influenced" by the evangelists and taken to Gooty when they suffered from stomach ache and other ailments.

However, the families were supposedly reprimanded and "rescued" by the residents.

The residents don’t divulge further details about who the families are and turn hostile. They claim that speaking to the ST families directly would distress them.

Ramana intervenes: “They didn’t convert. They just went for treatment, but after we enlightened them, they stopped going. And we have been vigilant enough not to allow those evangelists again.”

What explains the saffron spread in Kesalingayapalli?

Kesalingayapalli is a village dominated by Balijas (previously classified as Other Backward Castes and currently as BCs), followed by BCs and STs. Strangely, it doesn’t have any SC - Mala, Madiga - families.

The village has two big temples, Gangamma Devalayam and Ramalayam, both of which required restoration at one point. While the Gangamma Devalayam is right opposite the main road, the Ramalayam is situated 20 meters away from the main road, surrounded by tiny houses in the village.

The village also has a Bhajanamandali (music troupe which sings bhajans) with 50 people, including musicians. The troupe frequents Tirupati, and participates in Bhajanamandali competitions. Their frequent visits have made them close to members of the Aikya Hindu Vedika, an association which helps restore temples and propagate the Hindu religion.

The Vedika allegedly offered huge sums to restore both the temples and asked the residents to save Hinduism from becoming "extinct".

The Vedika is also said to have distributed Bhagavad Gita copies for the purpose. As a result, all the children in the village compulsorily read the Gita in the temple for one and a half hours, usually from 8.30 to 10 pm regularly.

Beaming with pride, Ramana says, “Without fail, every day, all of them gather in Ramalayam to practice bhajans and read Bhagavad Gita in the evening.” {Moi overcome with joy only. AoA!}
There's more. The sekular journo's khujli is quite fun to finger, besides. Read it all. Ensoi. There is hope yet! Arise, Awaken, Adhere!

Good to see Yogi saab recognizing freedom fighters who fought against the British. Surely, no one can have an issue with this. OT but I studied in ICSE for a couple of years. The standard of education was good (esp. English), but it did favor businesses (textbook shops, music shops) of a specific kind. I recall even the cloth for uniform ....we were directed to a specific shop in a specific locality.

That could be an arrangement between the specific school and local business shops. I studied in an ICSE school. The fees was off course high (it was a private mgmt school), and the books were all expensive and from specific vendors (Orient Long Man etc.).

1st rank! Facebook page of Yogi Adityanath judged the most popular among all CMs in India (FinExp)

Yay and all that. And then I see that Raje and Rupani were #s 2 and 3. So seems much of the FB action involves vernacular content and interaction, perhaps?
The Facebook page of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been judged the most popular among all other chief ministers in the country.

In the ranking released by the social networking platform, Adityanath’s page beat those of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and his Gujarat counterpart Vijay Rupani to emerge as the most popular.

“We recently released the data of top-ranked Facebook pages of government bodies, ministries and political parties in India. The data looks at the popularity of these accounts during the period of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017, and is based on the interactions on the platform like shares and comments,” a communication sent to the Uttar Pradesh government by Facebook read.

“You will be glad to know that Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath’s Facebook page is at first position in the Indian Chief Minister category,” it added.
I don't trust the turds @ fin express. Cousins of Ind express, after all. So why do these clowns allow publishing of non-scathing news about The_Yogi, eh, I ask moiself. To attract eyeballs, perhaps. More attention-leeching from the dinosaur media, so what's to see, you say? Balls to them I say. Onlee.

Schools across India are leaving ICSE in droves and opting for CBSE because the CBSE syllabus is considered better for competitive exams like IIT and medical. I know for a fact.

Yogi Sarkar Plans 1000 Hospitals Under PPP Model, E&Y To Submit Detailed Report (Swarajya)
Uttar Pradesh (UP) Health Minister Siddharth Nath Singh has announced the UP administration’s plan of setting up 1000 hospitals under the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model in the state, Financial Express has reported.

Under the model, existing community health centres will be leased out to private players who will construct and operate a 100-bed hospital at the site.

“We are in the process of identifying two community health centres in each district. Their land, about three acres each, will be given on a long-term lease to private company which will construct a 100-bed hospital, along with an operation theatre and diagnostic centre,” Singh said.
Excellent idea. Sarkar has land but poor infra, facilities, maintenance, personnel etc. Pvt sector has efficiency, a nose for focus, metrics, innovation, jugaad etc. but no land. Bring the two together and create value for same money currently being spent on sarkari facilities, get 10x services and reach instead. Why not, hain jee? I for one intend to watch these developments keenly.
The heath minister also said that a proper method to regulate transfers of doctors will be put in place to remedy the current erratic transfer process. The minister has proposed a basic minimum module (BMM) for filling medical posts in district hospitals which will ensure that certain posts are mandatorily present in all such hospitals.

Singh said that no transfers from hospitals will take place unless positions like ENT specialists, paediatricians, gynaecologists and orthopaedic surgeons are filled. Doctors will also be roped in on contractual basis to meet shortages in hospitals.
Excellent. Again. Jai ho. Only.

‘2019 brahmastra’: Uttar Pradesh to slice 82 OBCs into 3 blocs (ET)
VARANASI: In a move aimed at checkmating the SP-BSP alliance in Uttar Pradesh in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the UP government will unleash a ‘brahmastra’ (master stroke) by categorising 82 OBCs into three segments so that all castes get due share of 27% reservation stipulated by the Mandal Commission, senior cabinet minister O P Rajbhar said.

Rajbhar, who heads Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), an ally of BJP, said the move would destroy the nascent SP-BSP alliance.

UP has 225 million population vs. Karnataka has 67 million. In 2017 there were 195 communal incidents of violence in UP. In Karnataka there were 100. It seems in this regard UP is better off.

Yogi orders shutdown on ghaziabad rapey madarsa. Ostensibly for inadequate 'permission' to operate or whatever. Recall that it took tax evasion charges to jail Al Capone and start the process of dismantling his mafia empire. Similarly any charge is OK to first get this rapey abomination permanently shutdown first I guess.

OH, and that nuisance of a loudspeaker is gone too. Was the first to be taken down as the madarsa was being closed, apparently. Symbolism and all that. Important.

Let the message go out loud n clear to all rapey-dopey chrislamist dushtablishments out there in UP.... Yogi is coming for ya backside with a DanDA. Only.

Partition’s main culprit Jinnah cannot be respected in India: Yogi Adityanath on AMU portrait row (OpIndia)
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has commented on the ongoing row over Aligarh Muslim University housing a portrait of Pakistan’s founding father Muhammad Ali Jinnah, by asserting that Jinnah cannot be respected in India.

As reported by The New Indian Express, CM Yogi was quoted as saying that Jinnah cannot be given respect in India and held him responsible for the partition. With regards to Jinnah’s portrait in AMU, Yogi stated that he had directed the university and the district administration to furnish a detailed report on the basis of which he would take action. He also said that the issue needed to be probed thoroughly owing to its sensitive nature.

India Today quoted Yogi as commenting that how could Jinnah’s achievements be celebrated when he partitioned the country. The Indian Express also carried a statement from Yogi where he was quoted as saying that, “Seems the AMU Jinnah photo might be coming off for good”.

The Aligarh Muslim University situated in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh has been on the boil for the past few days, after it was reported that BJP MP Satish Gautam has written to the University’sVice-Chancellorr – Tariq Mansoor, asking him to take down the portrait of Jinnah which was reported to be hanging in the Student Union Hall. The MP also questioned as to what was the need to put up the portrait on the University walls.

Soon the issue came garnered public attention, as a result of which clashes broke out between university students and activists who were demanding that the portrait is removed. Later the activists were taken to the police station where the university students later decided to march in hundreds. The Rapid Action Force which was deployed following the clashes failed to control them and it resulted in injuries to 13 cops and 28 students.

The incident also saw RSS activist Mohammad Aamir Rasheed announcing a reward of Rs 51,000 for anyone who managed to remove the portrait. He doubled the award to Rs 1 lakh if anyone managed to replace Jinnah’s portrait with Shivaji, Vir Savarkar or RSS founder Dr Hegdewar’s.

The situation in the area continues to be tense, with section 144 being imposed in town and internet services getting suspended till 12:00 AM on Saturday.

How Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh is set for a ‘power’ful turnaround (FixExp)
Beginning June 1, the state will be installing 10 mn pre-paid meters in rural areas to cut line losses and boost discom efficiency.
I recall that the last CM to try curbing power theft was Shri Kalyan Singh. The_Yogi is all that Kalyan ji was, and more. Only.

Look at the innovation coming out in the schemes here:
Uttar Pradesh is set for a ‘power’-ful turnaround. Faced with the twin challenges of providing power to every household by December, 2018 and containing huge line losses, the state government is going to install a whopping 10 million pre-paid meters under the Saubhagya scheme, which aims to add more than 40 million rural households in the state to the power grid by December this year.

The pre-paid meters, to be installed in 13 districts that have been reporting the maximum line losses, including Kanpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Bareilly and Lucknow, would allow consumers to recharge electricity in advance. Quite similar to how they recharge their mobile phones, consumers can recharge electricity for a sum as small as Rs 50.
