Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

to me, even from a cursory look at the photos of urban people of India from 70s to 90s, and then late 90s to now, something is quickly noticeable - the paunch, or the bulk, the 'health'..change in overall physique of people; is it a reflection of *something*? Yes, that is another observation...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

Delhi is a highly skewed sample as it has the highest per capita income (next to Goa), almost twice more than states like MAH, TN, KL, KT, GUJ, etc, and 10 times more than bottom placed Bihar. True, but then the cost of living would also be much less. No different from the US or any other country. ...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

When I first left India, my father, a government employee at a high position could barely afford to pay my airfare to the UK. Now, my cousins working for the government can take 2-3 trips every year to the US to visit their daughter. Of course airfares have become much cheaper vs. cost of living, b...

Far worse is having people like Shourie and the two Sinhas who work like termites, undermining the party from within. Shourie was out of the party in 2015 after he first criticized Modi and dubbed BJP as Congress+Cow. His party membership was allowed to "lapse" after he "failed" to pay the membersh...

................ How much do these people get paid? Does anyone know? spokies of political parties get paid nothing by any TV channel. Good to know, I thought as much, they are obviously paid by their own political parties. However, I think the others on the show - 'independent' people like army ge...

this rabid minority snake, in his desperate hunt for a parliamentary seat has finally taken this step. I hope that he does not get a ticket from the BJP. Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

There has to be constant pressure in the public sphere by the pro-RJB forces, if it polarizes the voting public, so be it, that in turn will benefit the BJP. People are savvy enough to see through the 'soft Hindu' approach of RaGa and Co.

CRamS ji, Do you think the US raid on Abbottabad in May 2011 was a success? If so, what "%"? Did anyone see Osama bin Laden's body, which SEAL Team Six claimed to have retrieved? Ever? Did it occur to anyone to count (let alone ask for evidence of) the exact # of piglets killed in that event? Does ...

^ I suspect Modi never lets on what he is really thinking, that is why he keeps silent until he needs to. His actions have always spoken louder than his words. As far as this particular action is concerned, I also feel that Modi is one of those leaders who truly works for the nation, even if it invo...

Sam, SHQ and I had gone for a wedding in the family and during this visit we decided to spend some downtime at the Orange County resort in the area. ^ Agree, there will always be BIF waiting in the wings. And all the Barking Mutts, Turdesais will be only too willing to jump a sinking ship like the rats they are and latch on to something else. Very nice, Sam Ji. My limited experience in Indian game reserves was pathetic to say the least. Well done. You could spend a week in a tiger sanctuary and not see a tiger, so I am told.

The same canard was being spread when the surgical strikes happened in 2016; that the previous regime had also conducted similar operations but 'never boasted' about it. Basic idea is to take the credit away from Modi Ji and the present army.
