Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

Looks like in KA, Kumaraswamy would seem himself like a Ghar Jamayi husband, with Congress actually running the government. His greed to become the CM has actually messed up his own political career. I am indebted to Cong, not to people: HDK Now that is a fantastic way to thank the voters :D,...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

The photo Gus shared asks this question in Tamil: "Padres lead all protests in South TN from the front. Why were they not at the front of this one?" But the photo did have padres right there in the front line? Was that of some other incident; Koodankulam for example? This one appears to be a differ...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

If we don't standby the last knight this time, we may not see anyone like him ever again. A defeat of BJP at this point will send hordes of RoL and RoP followers into murder/conversion frenzy. That much we agree. But with total quiet and peace, it is unlikely that Modi will be voted out anytime soo...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

Can and should everything be dumped on EJ and BIF. Are we at some level acting like Pakis believing in all sorts of CT. Well, that argument works when your sample size is 3. When your sample size is 100 and you actually see tangible evidence of EJ involvement in every one of those, you would have t...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

Indeed, sir, but one must ask, why sterlite at tuticorin? TN is a fairly industrialized state, and wiki shows that the city has many and more industries, why single out sterlite for the special attention? This article from 2010 might answer your question. http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/U.K.-i...

In less than 24 hours after the Sterlite incident: 1. Horrific photos of dead bodies - purportedly of victims of police shooting - have emerged on WhatsApp. 2. Strongly worded Naxal-like Tamil poems are being spread on WhatsApp. 3. YouTube music videos of similar Naxal-like songs have emerged and ar...

any move he does will be painted as pro-modi. what he fails to realize is, not doing any moves is not going to get him any favors. the only way to address issues, is to take them head-on and put instigators in their place and the general people can be assuaged with welfare schemes and good governan...

Frickin' rhona-dhona about Petrol & Diesel has started (again). The edumacated people who can't understand global events and their connection to energy prices make me sick. why is it that BJP does not do "resort politics"?? After every election, How are their MLA always, and so freely, walking around?? No one to buy?? or no one dare buy?? Or is it that they are all simply not for sale?? Come on, Saar. Don't you watch rNDTV or India Today? The answer ought to be obviou...

The votes Modi loses by catering to the all out Hindutva voters is far greater than the 'all out Hindutva' voters. Even if we assume all 'NOTA' votes are Hindutva voes, they are far less than the total number of votes polled or votes BJP got. Modi is not going to change his pace on Hindutva. Its up...

One thing for sure is that KA will vote BJP in 2019. After that, state elections will be forced and BJP will win on a sympathy wave Modi needs to learn his lessons from this. If the urban middle class across the nation pull what Bengaluru pulled - stay home or vote NOTA - that would be the end of h...

Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc

Fate works in mysterious ways. Vajpayee's short PM stint followed by Deve Gowda's elevation to PM post decimated Congi and 3rd front's credibility to bring Vajpayee back as PM. It gave us a glimpse of BJP's ability to give a corruption-free, uncompromising government. Now, Yeddi finds himself in Vaj...

Dr. Gaurav Pradhan is backpedaling too. He is now predicting that Cong & JD(S) will form government with Mallikarjun Kharge as CM. Dalit card being lined up for the next wave of elections.

Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc

The goal was to halt the Dalit/OBC slide to BJP. We saw that in play in Gujarat, we are seeing it in Karnataka. Based on some of the caste-wise projections in Karnataka, there is a slightly different conclusion I would reach. It is true that SC/ST are not consolidating behind BJP. In fact, they are...

I used to follow MediaCrooks on Twitter and generally like his blog articles. While his blogs took BIF to the cleaners, he pours quite a lot of bile on Modi on Twitter. His tweets as well as those that reply to him clearly served to create an impression that the RW support for Modi is falling apart....

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

I disagree that 'bhakt' is like the N word for blacks. It just means devotee and nothing else. The liberals have hijacked the term to make it sound bad, but screw them. Didn't mean to equate the N word with the B word. 'Bhakti' is only used in the context of Hinduism and denotes a pure, selfless de...
