This is UP Govt's official website - http://sec.up.nic.in/eleclive/PoliticalPartyResult.aspx The website itself shows that political party labels were used in Nagar Panchayat. The website itself shows that BJP ( = RSS) won about 664 out of 5443 Nagara Panchayat seats. Do you have the number of seat...

UP state election commission website . http://sec.up.nic.in/eleclive/PoliticalPartyResult.aspx . RSS (= BJP) won 14 out of 16 large city mayors . But see column of Nagar Panchayat members (corporators of small towns)\ . RSS could win only 12% of total seats. Moe than any other party, but SP won 8.5...

A week ago Caravan published a report on how a CBI Special judge who in Nov 2014 was handling Amit Shah case on the Sohrabbudin encounter had died in suspicious circumstances. Following the report everyone from Kejri down were beating the drum for retrial, investigation into the judge's death, etc. ...

TheWire et al are running with allegations about foul play in the death of a cbi court judge in December 2014 and the following quick disposal of the Sohrabudin case against Amit Shah later in the same month. Is this all just Ahmad Patel throwing the spanner in the GJ election race for BJP or anythi...

Modi is in Chennai "holding hands of Karunanidhi"! What's going on? I try not to lose my sanity by following the local TV or print media. I posted about the same issue of poor data quality in the Aadhar system. The same effort could have been used to re-verify and clean up PAN and EPIC databases, instead of jumping into a new system. But, bhakts are all knowing. Who are we to complain. Is this a question to MMS/Nilekani and the UPA g...

Re: Indian Economy - News & Discussion

PSU bank recapitalization (using taxpayer monies) announced to the tune of 2.11 lakh crore. All PSB stocks are on fire right now. My understanding, almost 2/3rd of that is going to be borrowed from the markets through bonds. A part of the rest of the 1/3rd will come from the national budget and tha...

Looks like we will see a sudden spurt of deaths related to ration cards and Aadhar connections. Much like similar phenomena following YSR's death, the demo etc. I have seen 2-3 just in the last week. There is something in the news about a 11 year old girl dying out of starvation in Jharkhand last month. Narrative that is picking up is that the family was denied rations due to not having Aadhaar.
