It's just our friendly neighbourhood lootyens types trying to fish in troubled waters. If the waters were not troubled to begin with, they'll try to create some trouble first. We are better off ignoring these articles from print, scroll, etc.

I know importance of income, it's one of four purusharthas. "Artha" is needed, no denying it. But when you are already in a civilizational battle, wherein many powers trying day in and day out to destroy you for decades, ONLY money will not help you. That's where WE come in. The people who have the...

Re: Nukkad

It's easy for us to be dismissive of "gas connections", toilets, bank accounts, etc. as most of us have grown up taking these things for granted. So our parents and grandparents had the time to instill a sense of self, culture and nationalism in us when we grew up. If anyone in my family tree had to...

For some reason I still can't find any goodness in Jaitley's work nor any reason to elevate him to this important position except for personal favor by NM (As quoted on BRF during 2014-15). So we end up with Jobless growth, arrogance when it comes to taxes, mess in Public sector banks. Jaitley coul...

^^ That's absolutely the way to go, saar. Let's all look forward to another lost decade, and this time, there may not be a recognizable civilisation left after that. This time, the congis will ensure it - they have got a taste of things to come having seen a wounded civilisation slowly dusting herse...

Re: Phone, Tablet & Gizmo Thread

Just found out that the Nokia smartphones being sold in India (3,5,6,7 and 8 series) are all "Made in India". Pleasant surprise.

Something to keep in mind if anyone is looking to buy a new device.

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

All of these are red flags in some sense; because it tells one that to convince a majority to vote for BJP in (many) areas, nothing short of an agressive street-level campiagn can do the trick. This suggests there is some reluctance of people to vote BJP...for whatever reason (there might be differ...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

Jaynagar Bypoll, looks like one ward with Minrities or heavy vote buying carried the day for INC. https://twitter.com/KiranKS/status/1006946589695356928 Also JD(S) did not field a candidate to avoid splitting "secular" votes, this does not bode well for BJP in Karnataka in 2019. In the recent assem...

Re: Nukkad

This king cobra is a really scary beast. Imagine the venomousness of a regular cobra but with 3 times the length, and as thick as a python. It is unbelievable, except that is actually exists. I heard that it is an extremely aggressive type of snake (which typically try to avoid human contact). Yes,...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

So much for the protest being peaceful, called by 'innocent' people. I am sure the media and the film industry (who are into everything but films these days) will now work themselves into a frenzy and lay a nicely packaged narrative at Modi's feet. But, let's see the d-day reports first, before the ...

^^Probably congis figured out your apartment folks are more likely to vote for BJP. Very likely. I heard certain neighbouring areas were extensively covered for voter enrollment, but not a peep in my flat or the ones nearby. I am told this is the pattern across the city. Given the voter enrollment ...

I had a similar problem with Axis bank a few years ago, and then they enabled email-based OTP messages. IIRC, they offerred the option for NRE/NRO accounts - it stopped after my account changed to a regular resident a/c. Not sure if ICICI supports that. I'd just caution about comparing with security...
