Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

I think many Christians understand that - as probably they their ancesy were hindu at some point - but what they truly resent is castism and which may be, just may be, the reason why they feel comfortable with indian muslims many of whom also share the similar reason for conversion. Where did you h...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

I found Christians I know are as patriotic as any hindu but majority could be assumed anti bjp. I don't understand the logic. Hindu as a culture is the most compatible for a minority Christian to live with. There are no hindu christain riots. Christian and muslims are as religion technically simila...

Re: Travel Diaries

I'm a late visitor to this thread. I like to travel on holiday and my most recent trip (end Oct early Nov) was to Sikkim. I'd highly recommend it. Visited Gangtok, Nathu La and then North Sikkim. Places like Gurudomar lake (the worlds highest at an altitude of 17300 ft) and the Yumthang valley are o...

Re: Travel Diaries

I've been to Sri Lanka on holiday and on business.
English is a little more widely spoken than India. Non Tamils don't speak or understand Tamil, so you might like to start with a `Tamil Terima ?' to be sure you'd be understood.

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

As far as this forum goes, the most rabid Modi haters are Hindus and not Christians. Don't know who is a muslim here but the self-acknowledged Christian on this forum is actually very happy with the progress India has made under Modi and is a smart, well educated entrepreneur. He has been practical...

If I were BJP, and I am sure AS and ModiJi don't need my advice, but I would link that scum bag Archbishop's appeal to reject "nationalist forces" (read BJP) with Vatican interfering in Indian elections and go hammer and tongs on the links between Vatican, Archbishop and Queen madam. And THAT is go...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

The BJP retaining its current 120 seats in Gujarat would be very creditable considering (as per English language media): - After 3 terms there should be some anti incumbency - A charismatic state CM (Modiji) has been replaced by a relatively low profile newcomer. - Demo is supposed to have destroyed...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

I think as long as we have English medium education, we will always be slaves & white/anglo-saxon/christian value worshipping will continue. Indian elite are Islamists because of 2 reasons - vote bank & the influence of the western elite who are themselves pro-Islamists. Once you break the strangle...

^ Thanks for posting that, RD. My namo-namo to Prof. Julluri for articulating truth so well. And exposing Modi sarkar's inexplicable inaction on this crucial front. Only. I wanted to write an article which partly deals with the same issue that Prof Julluri raises. There is one aspect on which I hav...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

Jamwal, the pew stuff is very interesting. Thanks for posting it. Surprised to see 58% had a favorable view of the G-clan. Just shows the huge way public perception has to go. I suspect it was skewed by more rural votes. In Urban areas, I doubt they have that much support. But good hope for 2019. T...

Re: Indian Economy - News & Discussion

Deans Sir, if Indirect taxes continue to grow in this manner, direct taxes can definitely be reduced. Just a few years ago, the ratio was 70:30, and it has steadily reached a point where indirect taxes are now more than direct tax collections. In a decade, hopefully local taxes will completely over...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

The Christian subsidy articles is dated Mar '15. Nothing has happened since and rightly so. A BJP leader in Bandra (Mumbai) arranged for the Christians to meet the CM and ask for this subsidy - as they periodically do in several states. IMO he had done this to try and change perceptions in the Chris...

Even Now It’s Not Late - Three years down the line, Modi has proved to be a huge disappointment https://www.pgurus.com/even-now-not-late/ Whilst I wouldn't go so far and call Modi a disappointment , I do agree with most of the points in the article viz - lowering of Individual IT rates to a reasona...

If the Hajj subsidy money is for Air India, the truly secular way to solve it is: 1.Sell off Air India. 2. Implement a transparent bidding process for airport slots and international bilaterals. 3. Let true competition take care of providing the best prices for Hajj pilgrimage as well as others. Pe...

Read news report that Haj Subsidy has been fully abolished w.e.f 2018 and all that money to be used in other schemes The Haj subsidy will be abolished only by 2022, but a beginning has been made. It is not the kind of subsidy many people think it is. What Govt does is subsidise travel on Air India,...
