Re: Cricket
why? why should one team's achievements be trivialised or de-legitimized because the other guys couldnt score as much? I’m not trivializing. I’m just saying that high scoring one sided matches are boring. I want to see a good contest between bat and ball, not cheap 6s and 4s by 3rd class batsmen re...
Re: Cricket
Merely results are not enough. The matches have to be hard fought.
Re: Cricket
Even though we are at the losing end, I am enjoying these bowler dominated series. Too many flat track bullies in the last decade posting mammoth scores but no real quality.
A big score should mean something and be memorable. Like Gavaskar's 236* which people remember even after 35 years.

Mods are myself, Singha and Rahul M.
However, we tend to moderate as less as possible and expect the posters to moderate themselves.

now I realise she is actress of Hindi Medium, why are Pakistani actors being forced on us? ^^ strange that film is produced by T series karta dharta Kishan Kumar & Bhushan Kumar whose elder brother Gulshan was killed by underworld at order of Nadeem Shravan. Nadeem since then is hiding in London. Y...
Re: Cricket
These losses should drill some humility in our "boys". :-D They were getting too cocky with all these easy wins on flat local pitches. A bit of reality is always good. Why is Rohit Sharma in the Test team? Is it because he is best buds with Kohli? Why was Rahane dropped? Rishabh Pant should be induc...

This time I took a SW munna with me to a very large Japani OEM's HQ. After watching him silently take in the drab HQ building with equally drab rooms, corridors and no Silly-con valley type luxuries, I asked him if he wanted to move here - the look of utter horror on the Silly-con valley munna's fa...

Re: Indian IT Industry
Don't see what is wrong in IT unions (Ok may be that's not the right term). Over the last 2 decades the real pay for IT munnas has eroded to below (or at best on par) blue collar labor, yet they have no real safeguards. And IT companies behavior has been no better than cronies, gobbling up huge tax...

Re: Indian IT Industry
Mehta ji , it matters little whether these people are in a unuon ir not. If they dont perform, they will be fired. Unionisation works only in govt jobs because babus are there to fill their pockets. Private companies are there to make a profit. In the UK many bank employees are part of a union too,...

Re: Indian IT Industry
Ok, so business climate has shrunk demand of IT techies from India. How can these Indian companies continue to hire them and pay them when their cannot push them into projects? Indian IT will become another Government agency where you join and coast for life with benefits and no one can fire you for...

Re: Indian IT Industry
^ Part of the problem is also that the likes of Infosys/Wipro/TCS also hire Civil and Mechanical engineers en masse, and retrain them to write code. In the mean time, they will also go give an interview to TOI-let, complaining about low quality of engineers who need to be re-trained. Overall, it wi...

Re: Indian IT Industry
Unfortunately I foresee a lot of pain and frustration in the next few years. This is no different from a bubble which has burst. This would have happened even if Trump was not POTUS. Indian IT was very very lucky that it lasted about 20 years, which is very very rare. Merely saying "we will get into...

Re: Ram Sethu
Shakuni, the simple reason is Muslims band together. They help one another. Hindus don't do that. We are busy pulling each other down. We have no unifying factor.
If a Hindu asserts himself and loses his job, he is all alone. Muslims will come to another Muslims rescue and take care of him.

Re: Cricket
Good to see a low scoring Test match. I got sick of all those 600+ scores with all the 6s and 4s. Bowlers get the rough end these past years.

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017
John is right. BJP is trying to become Congress. They are forgetting that it was the Hindus who put them in power and they better do something for the Hindus. Modi needs to get cracking and quick. As far as Rajni goes, I don't see a problem as yet. I am a Hindu, but I like Jesus and his ideas too. I...

Re: Nukkad
I have mixed feelings about this H1B issue. There is a real good reason why Trump has made it an issue and why he is pushing forward with it. For years Indian IT companies have misused the laws, bent them and profited from them in an unethical way. The US CEOs didn't care because they were able to s...

Jai Ho! As far as GJ is concerned, it is good that BJP did not have a cakewalk. This will keep them on their toes and not let them talk their electorate for granted. This is well in advance of 2019 so they can prepare their next Hindutva strike. All good onlee. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/im...

Re: Ram Sethu
When it comes to Hindu sacred places like Ram Sethu, RJB etc, everyone demands "proof". The discussion goes to whether Ram and Krishna existed. But when it comes to Christianity and Islam, no one demands any proof. Then it becomes a "matter of faith". So we should deal with it in the same way. It do...

If a female thinks that she is strong, extremely independent and does not like to be told what to do, the best companion for her would be a male who is not very authoritative by nature or emasculated by circumstances. I would think such an union would be complimentary and less prone to clashes. A g...

It seems like US economy is back on solid footing. Apparently, this month is the 86th straight of job increase/gains. Unemployment is back around to 4%. Markets are roaring. Supposedly labour market is strong again. Good for folks who are in US. I guess some executives orders by Trump, especially o...

I can’t find where an OCI will not avail consular support. It appears to provide parity with a regular citizen in this regard. We need a facepalm icon here. OCI's categorization cannot be more clear: An OCI is not a citizen of India, because you hold a FOREIGN PASSPORT and NOT an Indian one. You're...

I'm beginning to think that Virat Kohli is greater than Sachin Tendulkar.
Time to bring in Rishabh Pant in gradually without ruining him and discarding him like our selectors have done so often.

What world are you living in Janab? Average american age for girls to loose virginity is 14, you think a 15 year old munna is going to escape with his foreskin intact till you arrange a sabhya-adarsh mahila to wed him? What you are saying it totally irrelevant to this discussion. Whether anyone los...
