The original methodology is more expensive . I do not think he has the money to do it that way every time. He has solicited donations, and in the past especially around GE2014 I donated to enable his work too .

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

I need to see BJP winning something to restore my optimism. Irrational opinion, playing into the enemy's hands. Between NaMo's running for PM candidate in 2013 and today, BJP has: - Not lost power in a single state election - Retained power in 4 states - Captured power in 15 states either alone or ...

The author says we lost 1.19 trillion in PPP and promptly goes on to add that amount to nominal GDP and comes up with 3.5 trillion. Ughhh.
That's right. You can't take an article seriously when it has a clickbait title with bad math.

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

^^It's not that simple. Vajpayee was the preferred PM, but what happened? Modi should have affected sufficient number of people significantly to vote for him over local and other considerations. Modi factor will make a difference, but its hard to predict its magnitude. Vajpayee wasn't the preferred...

India’s Opposition Party Is Running Out of Cash India’s main opposition Congress party is facing a financial crisis that could undermine its ability to wrest power from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wealthy Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019. For the past five months, Congress leadership has stopped s...

Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc

Core voters will usually stay home if they are unhappy. NOTA voters will be more AAPian types or fence-sitters. The ones who choose to stay home by definition are not core voters . The ruling party has the first parliamentary majority in a generation . It rules 2/3rds of the states and over 90% of ...

Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc

"Mess up" means using KA as an ATM to fight 2019. BJP did the right thing by doing whatever it could to block off access to $$ for Cong system before 2019. It now controls 21 out of 29 states, and INC controls two. "Wait for them to mess up" is a naive simplistic argument that doesn't account for KA...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

There is no such thing as changing pronunciation of nouns in English. It is only a reflection of our poor grasp of how to spell correctly in English, which is a foreign language to us. Technically there's no 'correct spelling in English' possible because English is not purely phonetic, unlike India...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 2 (Mar 2018 - )

But this is not a matter of pronunciation in a particular Indian language. The original request was to correct the English spelling to Karnataka, matching the local Kannada phonetic. Most of us know about the shwa deletion, but that's besides the point - even a Hindi speaker needs to spell it Karnat...

We tour Australia this year. Good that they have neither Smith nor Warner then. (rubs hands in anticipation) Too bad Mitchell Starc didn't do enough to get himself banned too. And Nathan Lyon too. Amateurs. What were they thinking ? Go big or go home. Or, go big and then go home (for a year)...

I don't know about that. Australia has a split personality when it comes to sport. They're moralistic and hypocritical in equal measure. They like to pretend they're above the things 'other people do' (a.k.a ball tampering and match fixing), while vigorously asserting that what they themselves do is...

The difference is that du Plessis acted alone, on something that's generally a grey area (using something in mouth to shine the ball). Some things like that are already permitted - using your uniform to shine the ball. Du Plessis denied his actions were premediated, and never got sanctioned beyond t...

With a banking system this poorly set up and run, I'm *shocked* that UPA era scams were as 'small' as they were. They could literally have burned the place to the ground and no one would be any the wiser.

Deans, it's no one's claim that the IT department is efficient. Maybe your own hassles provide context into why it's not going to be a prompt job to do all the other DeMo work you expect of them ? Or perhaps that work gets more priority than your example does ?

Deans: the news article quotes additional revenue until Dec 2017. This is not a static or final figure, or even close to it. Please remember, you're asking for something that requires additional manpower, time and effort on top of everything the IT department already does. It's far easier to track d...
