Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )
I am happy that BJP is making alliances, but the BJP needs to increase its own vote share and decrease it's reliance on allies. Today's allies are tomorrow's does. Nitish is a prime example, that snake will bite whenever he feels it'll help him, just as all the allies Yes sir, right away sir. Would...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )
The situation for NDA in south India (MH, GA, KA, KL, TG, AP, TN, and various UTs) seems to be dramatically improving. 70 seats from this region doesn't seem unrealistic at all now.

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )
It looks like Amitji has done a great job of forming and handling alliances in BH, MH, and TN...and good decision to cut loose the TDP and AGP's sinking ships. Day by day the NDA is looking even more formidable than 2014. I wonder if there is any pre-poll plan with Jagan in AP ? UP seems very intere...

Shorn of all the histrionics, mumbo jumbo and what have you, we need a quick read of the way the wind is blowing. That's the be all and end all of it. ........ Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )
So the VDP poll is the first one this year to have been done twice. In Jan, NDA 225 and in Feb, 242. Since they give no error analysis, it is not clear if it is significant in view of the vote share error margin. One has to wait for the next couple of months to see if there is a definite trend.

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )
In KL they are predicting 20% for NDA. There is show meltdown of the Left. NDA is 15% 2014, 17% 2017 to 20% now. A few more cycles of elections and a few more goof-ups like Sabarimala it will take. That is what happened in WB where they are now predicting 8% for the Left (at their peak it was more ...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )
VDP is just another poll: "Numbaz from Nowheah".
Anyway, so far the poll range for Feb has been NDA 242-252.
Last month the range was NDA 225-233, not counting that Deccan Herald "poll" which was obviously a Congi supporting fraud.
In Feb 2014, the polls were at NDA 212-236.

NaMo, Shah, Yogi, and Doval playing an excellent game. ^^^I agree regarding the outrageous sense of entitlement. In KL it seems a majority prefers Pappu as PM, which is a clear indicator of their intelligence and nationalism. I have not seen a state in which the entitlement level is higher than in KL. And then of course there are the so called BJP suppo...

^^^Agreed on all that. I am only tracking the poll results of 2019 versus 2014 to see the trends, and not concerned so much about the underlying reasons. Those can be debated for a long time. As far as I am concerned, this election will be a clear message to politicians in terms of whether this elec...

are you comparing times poll from Dec to times poll in Jan or two different agencies? With the same agency, at least the sampling method and model is consistent. With two different agencies - it is really apple vs oranges This agency did not do a LS 2019 poll earlier so I can't compare. For some of...

Hmmm...that Times Now poll is a significant uptick from the Dec-Jan polls, and even after the so-called MGB is projected at 51 seats in UP. I didn't expect an uptick so soon. Let us see what happens in Feb. All polls have vote share margin of error of 3% or more, so take them with lots of salt. http...

The caveat is 53% won't vote for BJP. Caste and candidate will influence the vote. What was MMS approval before 2014? Look over the report. Actually the survey report asks that question on pp. 30-31...whether the persons who said they want NDA will still vote the same if the candidate is not BJP or...
