Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

I wonder if the govt always had a strategy for the Rafale allegations. Now any other corruption allegation against Modi will not get much traction. Congress appears vindictive to the public.

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

I would rather Modi set the bar high with DeMo and GST than wait for some time in the future for something that may never happen. Yes, construction workers are affected but it should have been more than made up by the massive investment in infrastructure. The poor are getting free health insurance, ...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

Hanumadu, middle class always paid for it.. makes no difference to them. Modi's schemes are also paid for by the same middle class. So the choice you state is moot. The argument may be how much good each of the schemes brings (Modi Vs sickulars) but unfortunately middle class, just like poor only a...

precise analysis: why is middle class going away from Modi : These anecdotal impressions do have some backing from number crunchers. As Kumar and Gupta point out in their Livemint article, the Modi government had some sops for almost every interest group in the country except the middle class, who,...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

Read on twitter NOTA votes in MP in 2013 were more than NOTA votes in 2018. BJP's vote share this year 40%, 2013 43%. I think upper castes should trust SC/ST to not misuse the act by and large. There may be some who misuse it, but there are UCs who still abuse their privileges. On balance, I think a...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

Agriculture production in MP has boomed and done well in CG, so IMHO that isn’t a factor. We need to see district voting results the states. Doesn't matter how much it has boomed, it is not keeping up pace with the rest of the economy. It never will. That is the reality of agriculture every where i...

For those saying Hindutva brings votes, People voted congress even after they said 'unse baadme lipatlenge'. For those saying vikas won't fetch votes, it will at least not get you 44 seats. The number one issue that people based their vote in Rajasthan as per opinion polls is unemployment. If this i...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

Saar you seriously expect the lead of 44 sets 12% votes to be bridged? The fact that the vote share difference listed so far in CG is 12% means very few of the BJP polling booth EVMs have been counted. Vote share differences between BJP and INC are less than 1% usually. In 2013, at 2:30 PM BJP was ...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

I am surprised that TRS winning with such a huge majority in TG. But very happy about it. People completely rejected TDP. BJP has to at least get a simple majority in MP or very close to it. Congress can always count on BSP. Others too will most likely go with Congress unless they are independents.

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )

If the circumstances don't change significantly for the 2019 LS poll how many LS seats is BJP likely to lose (the ones that it won in 2014)? My guess: 35 (MP, CG, RJ), 35 (UP, BH), 10 GJ, 5 KA. Where can it significantly improve its tally? can't think of any. Not much scope for improvement in MH as...

Re: Cricket

How many chances will Rohit Sharma get? Going by his innings of 80 odd in England, Ravindra Jadeja is a much improved player and a regular bowler. He could have been a lot more useful on this wicket with his bowling. Virat Kohli is stubborn and it will be too late before he realises his folly. Ravi ...
